Platforms like X, TikTok, and Instagram were filled with opinions

Peso Pluma has become one of the most important artists not just in Mexico, but also internationally. Like many of his peers, he has had his share of controversial moments throughout his career. One of these happened recently due to some statements he made that caught the attention of people.

In an interview, he called himself ‘the savior of Mexican regional music,’ almost like a superhero saving a city. He also said that this arrival has been like a big shake-up, breathing new life into the genre. Naturally, this didn’t go unnoticed on social media, where opinions were split between those who support him and those who don’t quite agree with what he said.

Additionally, Hassan, the singer’s real name, described ‘Peso Pluma’ as an outgoing person who isn’t afraid to be himself or pursue his dreams. However, it’s important to remember that most of the time, the singer talks about ‘Peso Pluma’ as the group of people involved in the project. So, in this interview, he was probably referring to the whole team, not just to himself.

The Responses

Naturally, social media had a lot to say. Platforms like X, TikTok, and Instagram were filled with memes and jokes about ‘la Doble P.’ However, it wasn’t all just teasing. Many people defended his words, saying he has really helped bring regional Mexican music to a global audience.

But the critics weren’t quiet either. They say Hassan is overdoing it a bit and that other artists like Natanael Cano and Junior H have also made big contributions. Not everyone believes that he alone is the main force behind the popularity of the corridos tumbados.

Meanwhile, his most loyal fans keep cheering for his achievements. Being one of the most streamed artists on Spotify worldwide and appearing on international shows and festivals is no small feat. Whether people like him or not, he continues to set trends and records, and no one can deny that.

In summary, Peso Pluma is making a name for himself with his words and his music. Will he really be the superhero of regional Mexican music? What do you think about this?
