Peso Pluma has undoubtedly become one of the biggest names in the music industry, undergoing an incredible evolution in the past year. He has taken Mexican music to another level with his chart-topping collaborations, including the hit that changed everything: ‘Ella Baila Sola,’ featuring the Mexican-American band Eslabón Armado.

In fact, ‘Doble P’ visited The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform the award-winning song a year ago. Now, he is back to rock his latest release, ‘La Durango,’ alongside Eslabón Armado. Since his last appearance on the late show, many things have happened in his life, including becoming YouTube’s most streamed artist of 2023, and one of the most listened to Latin artist worldwide, having the first Mexican song to ever hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and winning his first Grammy for his album ‘Génesis.’

“There’s so much happening in my life, but I’m just thankful that everything is going well and I’m very excited to be here,” he declared on the show.

Peso Pluma’s future plans include winning more Grammys (something he has already achieved), breaking more records, and in five years, following in the footsteps of Hov and Jay-Z by spending more time on the business side of the industry and helping young and emerging artists achieve their dreams, as he revealed last year to Billboard.

Peso Pluma’s Confession

One of the topics Fallon brought up in the conversation was Peso Pluma’s style. Without a doubt, the Mexican star has become an icon in many ways, including fashion. ‘Doble P’ has made his hairstyle fashionable: he wears a somewhat peculiar 70s-style haircut called ‘mullet,’ which consists of shorter hair at the front, top, and sides, and longer hair at the back. However, he made an unexpected point in the interview.

“It’s viral on the Internet, everyone wants your haircut,” Fallon stated.

“Oh my God. And I don’t want it,” Peso Pluma confessed, unleashing laughter from the audience.

But, of course, there is an explanation. The Mexican star inquired why he keeps the same hairstyle, even though he doesn’t really like it.

“How did you come up with this style?” Fallon asked.

“It was actually a mistake,” the singer confessed, causing more laughter from the audience. “They were cutting my hair in Medellín, in Colombia. I went to do a video there when I was starting my career, and the barber was just doing it badly. When I looked in the mirror, I realized it wasn’t that bad. So I kept it, and all these little kids went crazy over it. That’s why I have it right now, because all the little kids want it,” he asserted.
