The day has finally arrived! The Met Gala 2024 will be held on May 6th at the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art. A nearly religious day for all fashion lovers and aspiring jet setters. This year, its theme Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion promises to captivate us.

A day intended to be filled with celebrities. Some we’ve already seen strolling the charming streets of New York, like Dua Lipa, Rihanna, or Rosalía, who also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon a few days ago.

Even though the carefully curated guest list by Vogue‘s editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, is never revealed before the ceremony, the singer of «SAOKO» is one of the Latin music stars we’ll likely see walking the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. But she won’t be alone. Here, we review a list of artists who will probably showcase their best looks today at the Super Bowl of fashion.

Karol G

Karol G is one of those artists who are highly likely to attend the Met this year. The requirements to be invited to such an exclusive event are few but demanding.

Firstly, having a high degree of fame and recognition, something the Colombian undoubtedly possesses, having become the most sought-after Latin artist both inside and outside the United States after the release of her album Mañana Será Bonito (2023), and being the first to sell out a stadium tour in the country.

Secondly, it’s important, as mentioned earlier, to have Anna Wintour’s approval. Something the singer of «OKI DOKI» undoubtedly has, as she has previously been on the cover of Vogue. We would love to see Karol this evening on the red carpet. Which designer will she choose for the occasion? Balmain, Jacquemus, Mugler… Will she attend alone, as she usually does at these events, or will she be accompanied by singer Feid? We can’t wait!

Peso Pluma

If Karol G has been the it girl of the past year, it’s clear that her male counterpart has been Peso Pluma. The star of corridos tumbados is one of the most listened-to Latin artists worldwide, breaking records like no other Mexican performer had done before.

The immense success that «Doble P» has achieved with hits like «Ella Baila Sola,» «LADY GAGA,» and the rest of the songs from his highly anticipated album Génesis (2023) has made the artist not miss any elite event in the past year: from the GRAMMYs to the Super Bowl. As the famous Tupac Shakur quote, which the Mexican artist has tattooed on his chest, goes, all eyes are on him.

That’s the main reason why it’s very likely that we’ll see Peso Pluma attending the Met Gala today. And he’ll probably do it in collaboration with one of his trusted brands, Louis Vuitton.

Anitta

Anitta has already been seen in recent days in New York, attending some of the most exclusive pre-Met Gala events, such as Pharrell’s new Tiffany&Co launch, where she coincided with other stars like Rosalía.

And although the Brazilian artist made a trip to her hometown, Rio de Janeiro, to appear as a guest artist on Madonna’s show, everything points to her being back in the city of lights today.

Anitta, like Peso Pluma, with whom more than a lovely friendship is rumored, has also attended the most exclusive events this year, even the Oscars, where she dazzled in a dress with daring transparencies. Everything points to her returning to the Met this year, as she did last year, appearing in an incredible Marc Jacobs dress.

Bad Bunny

We can confirm that Bad Bunny’s presence at the Met Gala 2024 is practically confirmed, as the Puerto Rican is a co-chair of the event alongside Chris Hemsworth, Zendaya, and Jennifer Lopez.

In fact, Benito has already become a regular attendee at the ceremony, having participated the previous two years. One of them alongside the model and his now ex-partner Kendall Jenner, who is one of the mandatory guests at the event, along with the Kardashian sisters.

In 2022, Bad Bunny appeared in a striking Burberry outfit, and last year he did so hand in hand with one of his trusted designers, Jacquemus. Who will he choose this time to dominate the theme?

Shakira

The Colombian legend is another who hasn’t stopped making headlines in the past year. Furthermore, her recent release Women No Longer Cry has continued to be a success, culminating in a spectacular concert in Times Square, near where the Met Gala is held.

We’re sure that with Shakira’s popularity worldwide, she has probably been invited to the event in previous years, although she has never attended. Some media have even claimed that this is because Wintour «doesn’t approve» Shakira’s style, although we have to say that the celebration sees many personalities with a wide variety of styles, so it would still be possible to see the singer of «Hips Don’t Lie» making her debut on the red carpet.

Maluma

The Colombian is one of those artists who, like Anitta or J Balvin, has previously attended the celebration. He did so in 2023 to pay tribute to Karl Lagerfeld, wearing a simple BOSS suit that showed off his tattooed arms, maintaining a very personal style.

Maluma is one of those Latin stars who have already reached stratospheric levels of fame inside and outside English-speaking countries like the United States, so he already rubs shoulders with all kinds of stars and doesn’t miss an important event. In fact, just a few months ago, he was sipping champagne with Jay-Z at the Grammys, where his album Don Juan was also nominated.

Rauw Alejandro

Rauw Alejandro could be one of the most anticipated names today to see climbing the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Puerto Rican has never actually attended the Met, not even in the year he got engaged to Rosalía and they could have arrived together. Well, in 2023 neither the Catalan nor the singer of «Diluvio» appeared at the celebration.

However, that could change this year at the Met, where both could attend the event, although not together, of course. Rauw is undoubtedly one of the most prominent artists of Latin music and has a very striking style, having been invited to numerous fashion runways.

Other artists we might see today on the red carpet include J Balvin or Becky G, also influential figures in Latin music worldwide.

In conclusion, having been one of the most relevant years for Latin music, it will not be surprising if the number of personalities invited to the event multiplies. And we just can’t wait to see the looks!
