As we know, the music world is always changing and growing. In Mexican music, especially, we’re seeing a lot of evolution. Artists are teaming up across different styles within regional Mexican music. Let’s take corridos tumbados, for example. They stem from traditional Mexican corridos but are now blending with elements of pop and other influences. And they are definitely a genre that still dominates the music charts, including our Lista LOS40 USA.

1. «300 Noches» – Belinda, Natanael Cano

Belinda and Natanael Cano have joined forces to release their new collaboration, «300 Noches» (300 Nights), which has quickly climbed to the top of our chart. This marks their debut in this ranking. The song’s message is direct and relatable, likely striking a chord with many who have experienced similar situations. We’ve all been through tough breakups and held onto hope for reconciliation. But sometimes, we must face the reality that our partner has moved on, even if we still long for their return.

2. «Abril» – Reik

The Mexican band Reik’s song has reached the second spot on our Lista! Even though it’s no longer ‘Abril’ (April in Spanish), the track still resonates with listeners because it captures our collective nostalgia, regardless of the month.

3. «Puntería» – Shakira, Cardi B

Our song that topped the charts last week has slipped down to third place. The collaboration between Shakira and Cardi B, «Puntería,» caused quite a stir due to rumors about a romance with the lead actor, Lucien Laviscount, known for his role in the series ‘Emily in Paris.’ However, there haven’t been any updates, so perhaps the rumors were just that.

New Entries!

15. «Adivino» – Myke Towers, Bad Bunny

The Puerto Rican artists dropped their third collab on April 24th. After «Estamos Arriba» in 2019 and «Puesto Pa’ Guerrial» in 2020, they’re back with «ADIVINO,» a track fans had been waiting for. This song is all about breakups, diving into that nostalgic feeling when things just aren’t working out anymore. Oh, and there’s a little nod to Kendall Jenner, Bad Bunny’s ex.

20. «Un Desperdicio» – Rels B, Junior H

Junior H teams up with Rels B for a collaboration that mixes elements of ‘corridos tumbados’ with a more subtle vibe. The lyrics explore love and longing, expressing the desire for a woman who’s no longer with them. They convey the idea that even if they were to forget her one day, they’d still seek her out.

24. «Te Va a Doler» – Thalía, Grupo Firme

Grupo Firme keeps growing their influence with bigger and better collaborations. In their latest track, «Te Va a Doler,» featuring Thalía, they blend Mexican regional music with Thalía’s urban vibes seamlessly. It’s a catchy fusion that captures the best of both worlds. But that’s not all. This song dives into the common struggle of dealing with heartbreak and breakups. It’s a reminder that when life knocks you down, you have a choice: stay down and cry, or get up stronger than ever.

33. «Ojos Verdes» – Nicki Nicole

Nicki Nicole‘s breakup song after her relationship with Peso Pluma got a lot of attention because of their romantic history and how things ended. Although she doesn’t mention anyone specific in the song, there might be a subtle reference to their music video collaboration for «Por Las Noches,» where red roses were a big part. In that video, ‘La Doble P’ was even seen wearing white while holding a red rose, similar to Nicki’s portrayal in «Ojos Verdes.»
