Some songs have become so iconic that it's difficult to imagine them any other way

Many of our favorite artists have successfully gained international recognition thanks to their unique styles, which often set them apart from the rest. Songs like Dua Lipa‘s «New Rules,» Billie Eilish‘s «Bad Guy,» Miley Cyrus‘s «Wrecking Ball,» and Shakira‘s «Hips Don’t Lie» are just a few examples of how each artist has embedded their voice into their talent, creating a distinctive signature. These songs have become so iconic that it’s difficult to imagine them any other way.

Artificial intelligence has played an important role by allowing us to listen to artists who have already passed away performing their songs once more or presenting us with versions of songs that might otherwise be challenging to find, either due to copyright issues or the tight schedules of the artists themselves. Nonetheless, some artists have not hesitated to infuse their own style when interpreting songs by others, adding their personal touch to these covers.

«Summertime Sadness» – Miley Cyrus Covering Lana Del Rey

Miley Cyrus has a uniquely versatile voice, allowing her to experiment beyond the pop genre, including forays into country and even rock. During her Miami Bangerz Tour, she performed one of Lana Del Rey‘s most renowned songs, «Summertime Sadness,» infusing it with a country twist. And if that edgier rendition of Miley didn’t quite win you over, she also showed her talent on BBC Radio, where she performed a version of the same song that was closer to its original style.

«Imagine» – Shakira Covering John Lennon

In addition to her immense talent, Shakira is also known for her philanthropic endeavors and has actively participated in several UNICEF programs. While her rendition of Lennon’s iconic song may be somewhat different from what we’re accustomed to, the truth is that the Colombian artist lends her unique touch to it.

«The Chain» – Harry Styles covering Fleetwood Mac

The reality is that Harry Styles can sing whatever he pleases, and while his version may sound somewhat unconventional, we certainly like it.

«Bad» – Billie Eilish Covering Michael Jackson

Recently, Michael Jackson’s song «Bad» celebrated its 36th anniversary since its release. Despite the years that have passed, its legacy remains strong, influencing generations of artists like Billie Eilish, who brings her own blend of sweetness and sensuality with her beautiful voice.

«Perdóname» – Rosalía Covering La Factoría & Eddy Lover

La Motomami has performed a classic ‘old-school reggaeton’ hit on several occasions, delivering live renditions of the song that got an entire generation dancing.

«I’m Not The Only One» – Dua Lipa Covering Sam Smith

Long before Dua Lipa became the pop icon she is today, she already possessed a magnificent talent for performing songs by other artists.

«What Was I Made For» – Troye Sivan Covering Billie Eilish

Just a few days ago, Troye Sivan performed his cover of one of Billie Eilish’s latest songs, which has gained popularity primarily for being part of the Barbie movie’s soundtrack. This version is somewhat distinct from what Sivan has offered in his recent projects, like «Got Me Started,» where he traded sensuality for melancholy.

«Be The One» – Troye Sivan Covering Dua Lipa

A younger, yet equally talented, Sivan has also taken the stage to perform one of Dua Lipa’s most famous songs, putting his own distinctive style on it, of course.

«Blank Space» – Imagine Dragons Covering Taylor Swift

A cover that we didn’t realize we needed, but it turned out to be a necessity. While the styles of Imagine Dragons and Taylor Swift may not be identical, the truth is that the group did a splendid job, to the extent that the song could easily be mistaken for their original work. Furthermore, Dan Reynolds, the lead vocalist, adds an exceptionally unique touch with his voice.

«Glimpse Of Us» – Madison Beer Covering Joji

Madison Beer‘s voice and style have firmly established her as a prominent figure in the realm of ‘sad-pop,’ and her success owes much to the sweetness of her voice and introspective songwriting. Consequently, Joji’s melancholic song was not a challenging leap for her. However, it was her splendid and powerful voice that truly made it something special.
