Beer shaped the sonic landscape of this latest project drawing inspiration from some of her favorite groups and artists, including Lana del Rey, the iconic Beatles, and The Beach Boys.

In Silence Between Songs, Beer demonstrates why she is a reference in the ‘sad-pop’ genre and why she is recognized as one of the best voices in the music scene, particularly evident in songs like «Nothing Matters But You» and «Spinnin,» build on feelings of otherworldly escapism

“I wanted people to be able to put headphones in and close their eyes and they could see everything,” she said to Variety. “When I listen to those songs, I can see movies the colors and aesthetics and the videos perfectly capture the essence of my lyrics, the instrumentals it all comes together then.”

Moreover, this album boasts one of her most significant hits to date: «Reckless,» a song released in 2021 that has since soared to become one of her most resounding musical triumphs.

Lana del Rey Inspo & Advice

As mentioned earlier, Beer drew inspiration from Lana Del Rey.

Lana was definitely a breath of fresh air for me and I try to be the same with young artists coming up now a supporter or a voice of reason where I can be.”

The «Reckless» singer revealed to Variety that she serendipitously ran into Lana at a coffee shop, where she expressed her admiration for Beer’s music. She complimented Madison on the beauty of her album and mentioned that her favorite songs were «Ryder» and «Spinnin’.»

But Lana, known for her introspective wisdom, also offered some advice to Beer.

She also taught me to not put so much pressure on myself when it comes to releasing music. I tend to overthink the timeline of my releases and she’s much more casual about it. I love making music and I want to release more, as I please. I’m excited for what’s in store.”

It’s true that sometimes we can be overly critical of ourselves. Hopefully, Beer will heed the advice and continue to find joy in what she loves most: music.
