June is coming to an end, but the party has only just begun because we continue with the summer entrance on LOS40, with hit songs and highly anticipated releases.
This week, the Mexican phenomenon Peso Pluma returns to no. 1 position on the Lista LOS40 USA alongside the star producer from Argentina, Bizarrap, with their highly talked-about BZRP Music Session #55, which has already surpassed 115 million views on YouTube. Undoubtedly, this collaboration is on its way to becoming one of the most streamed sessions of the Argentine’s, strengthening the resounding success of the corridos tumbados and their coronation in the mainstream scene.
But as expected, that’s not the only achievement we have to highlight from the ‘Doble P’, because this week he also add his track ‘LADY GAGA’ to Lista LOS40 USA. A collaboration with other well-known names from the Mexican scene, such as Junior H and Gabito Ballesteros. The song belongs to the artist’s latest album, ‘GÉNESIS,’ which transports us once again to a fun world of opulence, vices and lust.
And it’s clear that this is a stellar week for Mexican artists, as Fuerza Regida also adds another track to the chart: ‘Sabor Fresa,’ a very sensual song intended for a slow dance with that special person you think of when you hear it (although we must say it is quite direct). However, in the music video, there is a detail that has not gone unnoticed by various Mexican fans and media: the moment when the band’s vocalist, Jesús Ortiz Paz, forcefully crushes a spider. This moment holds a special meaning if we recall that the spider is one of the symbols associated with Peso Pluma since the singer is a huge fan of Spiderman. For this reason, this action is being considered as a possible beef against the Mexican artist.
However, we have to say that Doble P continues to be the undisputed leader of the Lista LOS40 USA, with almost a dozen songs in the ranking and being the artist with the most number ones so far. In fact, they currently occupy the entire podium, yes, the complete top 3, along with Bizarrap, Yng Lvcas with ‘La Bebé – Remix,’ and the viral ‘Ella Baila Sola’ featuring ‘Eslabón Armado.’ On the other hand, Bad Bunny falls a few spots, ranking fourth and fifth position with regional Mexican hit ‘un x100to’ ft. Grupo Frontera and ‘Where She Goes.’ Songs that the Puerto Rican artist would have taken to number one last week.
We also have to mention that this past week saw the release of highly anticipated music, from Shakira and Manuel Turizo’s ‘Copa Vacía’ to Tainy’s eagerly awaited album, ‘DATA,’ which are already starting to make waves on digital platforms. Will we see some of these songs make a strong entrance on Lista LOS40 USA next week? Stay tuned!
