When Is Stranger Things 5 Coming Out?

This final season brings to a close a series that watched its young cast grow up before our eyes

Netflix has teased one of the biggest announcements about one of its most beloved series, Stranger Things 5, the sci-fi show created by Matt and Ross Duffer. The news came during the 2025 edition of TUDUM, one of the platform’s biggest annual events, where Netflix reveals some of its most exciting upcoming releases.

Stranger Things 5 is not just another chapter. It marks the end of the series starring Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, and Sadie Sink. For now, the final season, set once again in Hawkins, is coming a little later than fans expected. Specifically, the premiere date is set for November 26.

At the same event, Netflix also informed fans of Eleven’s story that the new season will debut with the release of the first four episodes. However, to watch the rest, viewers will have to wait a little longer when the platform will release four more episodes to continue the story.

And as expected, the final wait will be the longest: the very last episode will be released on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2025. That means season five of Stranger Things will be divided into three parts.

Stranger Things premiered on July 15, 2016, and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Blending supernatural mystery, ‘80s nostalgia, and emotionally grounded storytelling, the first season captivated audiences around the world.

It introduced viewers to the quiet town of Hawkins, Indiana, and a group of kids whose lives are forever changed by the disappearance of a friend. Then, the unexpected arrival of a girl with mysterious powers. The show’s massive success not only launched the careers of its young cast but also helped cement Netflix’s place as a major force in original programming.
