‘Stranger Things’ Season Five: Everything You Need To Know

Netflix has shared a 'behind-the-scenes' video

When we think about the most anticipated TV shows of 2025, Stranger Things is clearly at the top. The Duffer Brothers’ series is nearing its climax and plans to end on a high note, building up excitement among fans. A few weeks ago, Maya Hawke revealed in an interview that the upcoming episodes will be like eight full-length movies.

To keep up with the fans’ excitement, Netflix has released a 2-minute video showing behind-the-scenes footage from the filming. This material will eventually become a full documentary about the production process. The preview was released to celebrate the series’ eighth anniversary since its premiere on July 15, 2016, when we first met the kids from Hawkins. It’s a special treat for fans.

In the video, we get glimpses of iconic locations like the Byers’ Castle (Will’s small fort), the mysterious forest from the ‘Upside Down’, Hawkins High School, and the kids’ bikes—symbols that promise a season filled with nostalgia.

The video first mentions that they were halfway through filming at the time of recording. Maya, who plays Robin, mentioned in her interview with Podcrushed a few weeks ago that they’ve been working on it for about a year.

Do they still have the other half to film? We don’t think so; they probably mean they’re halfway through the entire process. Between preparing for the interviews shown and editing this segment, some time may have passed. If they aim to release it in 2025, possibly by the end of the year, post-production should start soon.

Another thing this preview reveals is the actors’ and team’s thoughts. “I started when I was ten. And now I’m about to turn 20,’ says Millie Bobby Brown,” indicating the video was filmed before her last birthday on February 19th. This also makes us wonder how they’ll handle the age gap in the series.

Noah Schnapp mentions this will be the best season yet. He’s also seen in a clip moving to the ‘Upside Down’. Will we finally find out how Will is connected to the other world?

Another actor who believes Season 5 will outdo the previous one is Henry Creel, known for his role as Vecna. On the other hand, Finn Wolfhard shares his excitement for scenes featuring the original four characters—hinting that Mike, Dustin, Lucas, and Will will reunite as a group of four again, reminiscent of the first season.

In addition, the cast sees new faces joining: Nell Fisher (from the 2023 film Evil Dead: The Awakening), Alex Breaux (from the 2023 miniseries The Waco Massacre: The Aftermath), and young Jake Connelly, making his acting debut.

What surprises will the final season of Stranger Things bring? The Duffer Brothers are determined to deliver a story that true fans of the series will love. We can’t wait to find out more details.
