The end of the year tends to make everyone feel a bit nostalgic. It’s that time when we look back at the good and not-so-good moments of the past 365 days, think about what the future holds, and ponder over our wishes and goals. Celebrities often share messages filled with hope and ambition for the coming year, and one such celebrity is Shakira. She recently shared a recap of her 2023 with all her followers.

Shakira, known for hits like «TQG,» posted a video on her Instagram where she took a visual journey through her year. She accompanied this journey with the song «Summertime Sadness» by Lana del Rey. The video kicks off with her performance at the BZRP Music Sessions 53, setting the tone for her year.

It also features glimpses of her latest music videos and a touching reminder of a message she delivered at a Billboard Awards show: “This has been a year of self-discovery for me. I’ve come to realize that women are far stronger than we often give ourselves credit for. We’re braver than we imagine, and I believe we’re more independent than we were taught to be.”

New Year Wishes

Additionally, the «El Jefe» performer shared her wishes for the new year on X, formerly known as Twitter: “Here’s to a 2024 where we can overcome our pains, appreciate what we have, and strive for what we desire! ❤️” She disclosed the same message in her WhatsApp broadcast group.

Shakira’s 2024 holds exciting prospects for her career. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of her upcoming album, which marks her return after El Dorado in 2017. Shakira herself has mentioned her aspirations to embark on a tour in support of the album. Without a doubt, her return to the stage is a much-anticipated wish for many in the new year. During the tour, audiences hope to revel in her timeless hits, including «Te Felicito,» «Monotonía,» «Copa Vacía,» and «Acróstico,» among others.
