Matthew Perry’s Death Takes an Unexpected Turn: Police Could Charge ‘Several People’

Matthew Perry’s death is still making headlines eight months later. The actor suddenly passed away at his home on October 28, 2023. While some details have been clarified, there are still many unanswered questions about the case. The Los Angeles Police Department has launched a criminal investigation to find out how the actor got hold of the ketamine that led to his death, as getting such a high dose of the anesthetic (which requires a prescription) isn’t easy.

According to the autopsy, the popular Friends actor, who played Chandler Bing, drowned in the bathtub due to ‘high levels of ketamine’ in his system. The report states, “Drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine. With the high levels of ketamine found in his post-mortem blood samples, the main lethal effects would be caused by both cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression.” However, this investigation has now taken a major turn. 

According to People magazine, authorities now believe that ‘several people’ should be charged in connection with Perry’s death. They are investigating who might have given him the large dose of ketamine found in his body on the day he died. It’s known that the actor used ketamine infusions for his depression and anxiety. However, the amount found was illegal, and authorities are looking into holding those who supplied it to him responsible. 

A source close to the investigation told the media that the case is almost resolved. We’ll have to wait for the final decision from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which may or may not press charges. If they do, the identities of the accused individuals will be revealed. Since this is a high-profile case, sources aren’t ready to disclose the identities of the accused just yet. 

The Case Was Reopened 

It’s worth mentioning that a few months ago, Kayti Edwards, the actor’s ex-partner, asked for the investigation to be reopened because she believed there were irregularities in her friend’s death. She also pointed to the medical team working for the actor, suggesting they might be behind the high dose of ketamine found in Matthew’s body.
