Who knows if it’s for trend, boredom, or simply because people seek attention on social media, but throwing objects at artists on stage has become a dangerous trend. Of course, some take it lightly, some get angry and demand respect, and others respond with the same medicine. That was the case with Cardi B during one of her shows in Las Vegas.
The rapper was giving a very intimate performance with her audience when someone –apparently a young woman– decided to throw her soda directly on Cardi’s face. The artist’s face showed confusion, followed by anger, as she decided to throw her microphone at her attacker’s head.
Her security team took over, immediately rushing towards the person who had thrown the soda on stage. It’s likely that this person won’t repeat such an action, as the situation probably didn’t end with just a warning or a sincere apology.
Cardi B’s anger didn’t stop with just throwing the microphone, which could have been even worse if it had hit her attacker in the head. In addition to that, she said all kinds of insults that we won’t reproduce here.
A resolute response to yet another case of someone who believes they have the right to disrupt an artist’s live performance. Sadly, we must acknowledge that it has become an ugly trend.
Microphone Auction
However, every dark cloud has a silver lining, as the saying goes. The wireless microphone used by the «Up» performer is now up for auction on eBay, with all proceeds going to charity. So far, bids have surpassed $50,000, and it appears that the bidding continues to climb.
As of the last check on the website, the microphone has received a total of 44 bids, and the auction will remain open for six more days until next Tuesday at five in the afternoon.
The product description includes details such as the microphone brand and its condition («used»), and it also specifies that all the proceeds from the auction will be donated to charity and sent entirely to an NGO.

In the best cases, it might be a stuffed toy or a t-shirt that doesn’t cause harm, but in other instances, like those of Rexha and Styles, they have been hit with hard and dangerous objects, leading to the need to stop their concerts after being severely struck.
Seeing Cardi B’s reaction, people will probably think twice before throwing anything again…
