Rosalía Announces ‘Tuya’, Her Next Drop

The Spanish artist could present it in Barcelona as part of the Primavera Sound 2023 festival

Rosalía has once again found in TikTok her greatest ally to share her upcoming hits. Our Motomami has resorted to the video platform to show a brief fragment of ‘Tuya’ («2YA TUYA 2ya TUya TUya 2YA TUYA 2ya TUya 2Ya 2Ya 2ya»), exactly replicating the formula of Despechá and ‘LLYLM’.

Wearing a blue and green floral printed dress with a boat neckline and ruffles, braids and black tights above the knee, the Catalan star filmed herself posing and putting on her earrings to the rhythm of this unreleased song.

For the production and composition of this track, the singer has surrounded herself with Gaby Music and Chris Jedi, who are behind hits like Despechá. «Combi Ganadora. Thanks for the opportunity», has expressed the former; while the latter has described the hit as an «anthem».

«Lo que quiero lo tengo / sin perdón y sin permiso / Bebé, tú ten cuidao’ / no sé si tú estás listo / Te tengo...», can be heard in this fragment. It is a song that keeps the classic reggaeton beat fused with flamenco clapping and an oriental touch thanks to what sounds like Japanese koto.

‘Tuya’ could see the light this Friday, June 2, but above all, it could be presented live this weekend during the celebration of Primavera Sound 2023, the iconic summer festival held in Barcelona. Moreover, ‘Despechá’ was premiered during the Motomami World Tour, so repeating this milestone would not be completely unreasonable. In fact, she’s the headliner of the fest that will be celebrated on June 3 in Parc del Fòrum.

A Possible Leak?

When Rosalía uploaded the TikTok to the platform, several fans noticed something unusual: if they clicked on the audio link of the video, they could listen to the full song, 2:37 minutes long. This option was active for a few moments. Afterwards, the audio appeared as «unavailable».

Even Rosalía herself has reposted the clip on her Instagram profile with the following description: «they have deleted it, I’m uploading it again». Had she leaked the whole song on purpose (and someone has brought it to her attention)? Or was it a simple accident?

«Solo esta noche soy tuya. Solo esta noche eres mía. Sin remedio ni cura… somos dos loquitos» are other verses that make up the chorus of this song that will seek to be one of the hot drops of this summer 2023.
