He revealed in a recent interview that his music has influences of the US hip hop and rap scene, due to his past living in the United States. As he stated, he’s becoming a main referent for all the ‘morrillos‘ (Mexican term to refer to young people) that want to become artists too.

The explosive hit ‘Ella Baila Sola’ changed everything, taking his music to another level and making his music more popular for the big audiences. He also had the opportunity to present the song in The Tonight Show of Jimmy Fallon.

But, why ‘Peso Pluma’? According to the interview with Pepe Garza, his name has nothing to do with boxing. “Because of THC feathers. That thing was quite popular at the time and we all had a thin complexion. When we went to a show in Guadalajara and met Marco Antonio, who was the champion of this weight type. We said: ‘that’s destiny, we get this name’», he explained.
