Famous Faces, Unseen Dreams: Celebrities’ Hidden Career Aspirations

Lights, Camera, Alternative Action: Stars' Almost Jobs Outside Hollywood

We are so accustomed to seeing our favorite celebrities grace the covers of magazines and dominate the screen that it’s rather bizarre to picture them doing something entirely different something ‘mundane,’ something ‘ordinary.’

It would be almost impossible to picture Meryl Streep, known for her incredible acting prowess, behind the counter at a local coffee shop, expertly brewing a morning latte.

Or perhaps the chart-topping sensation, Billie Eilish, famous for her mesmerizing vocals, delivering mail with a friendly smile. Maybe that’s why so many people were a bit astonished when they discovered Lana Del Rey apparently working at a fast-food restaurant.

Not because they’re lesser jobs, but because it’s not what we are used to. Maybe in an alternative universe, but not in ours.

If Not Stars, Then What?

The truth is, they’ve spent most of their lives in the spotlight, in front of cameras, and on stage, becoming household names for their exceptional talents. But imagine, just for a moment, these glamorous icons taking on every day, run-of-the-mill jobs.

Jennifer Lawrence Interior Designer

Jennifer Lawrence’s Hollywood career skyrocketed after her breakthrough role in ‘Winter’s Bone,’ and she became an icon as Katniss Everdeen in ‘The Hunger Games’ series. She also won an Oscar for the movie ‘Silver Linings Playbook.’

Known for her versatility and authenticity, Lawrence remains a beloved figure in the industry, and fans are always eagerly awaiting her next project. That’s why it’s hard to imagine her pursuing any other profession. However, she confessed Oprah Winfrey in an interview for The Hollywood Reporter what she could have been.

I thought for a while maybe I could be an interior designer that was the only job I knew about because my mom was friends with an interior designer. I was mostly just focused on a family when I was little. I would have never thought I’d be so career-focused.”

Margot Robbie Trapeze Artist

Our favorite Barbie had an unexpected second choice of occupation.

Born in Australia in 1990, skyrocketed to fame with her role in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ alongside Leonardo DiCaprio. She also portrayed Harley Quinn in the DC Extended Universe and received acclaim for her role in ‘I, Tonya’ (2017). Not to mention her success as Barbie in the Barbie movie.

Robbie’s influence extends beyond acting as she is also a producer with her company, LuckyChap Entertainment. Her career continues to flourish, making her one of Hollywood’s leading actresses, so… can you imagine her as a trapeze artist, as she told the Independent?

Sofia Vergara Dentist

The Colombian-American actress and television personality, was one of the highest-paid actresses on TV thanks to her comedic talent and charisma. Beyond acting, she’s also a successful businesswoman.

Vergara’s multifaceted career has established her as a prominent figure in Hollywood, but surprisingly, she once pursued a career in dentistry.

I wanted to be a doctor. But being a doctor takes so much time, years of studying. It’s difficult. So the next best thing for me at that time was to be a dentist. So I went to dentist school, but I didn’t finish” Vergara told Harry Connick Jr.

Jennifer Aniston – ‘Open’ a Wellness Center

Jennifer Aniston has been a Hollywood mainstay for many years, renowned for her iconic roles in beloved TV series like ‘Friends’ and a successful film career.

However, she said in a 2017 interview for Harper’s Bazaar, that there’s another job she dreams of pursuing outside of acting, showcasing her diverse interests and aspirations beyond the entertainment industry.

My dream is to open a wellness center. I have a fantasy where you have this beautiful space with facialists, rotating workouts, meditation classes, and a café with recipes that are healthier versions of delicious foods so you’re not deprived. I’m working on it in my brain. Not to sound all woo-woo, but if you go out into the world with inner peace, you’re more joyful. There’s a life’s-too-short policy that I now have with my work; no negative Nancies.”

George Clooney – Baseball Player

While it’s challenging to imagine George Clooney in a role other than a movie star, he once aspired to become a professional baseball player instead.

Clooney revealed that he even attempted to make the Cincinnati’s Big Machine Reds team in 1977. Regrettably, his tryouts didn’t yield the desired results, as he recounted during his appearance on David Letterman’s Netflix show, ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.’
