Bad Bunny and Grupo Frontera made it again! They reclaimed the podium of our Lista LOS40 with their song ‘1x100to’, so the song no se va, no se va, no se va.
But their comeback is completely understandable, as Regional Mexican has been taking the most important charts, and the lyrics are quite relatable for many, as they sing about using the last 1% of their phone battery to call their ex, reflecting the profound sense of regret and unhappiness that follows the loss of a loved one.
Maybe worse, it exposes the feeling of regret after hurting someone you deeply loved and cared about. It captures the bittersweet and heart-wrenching sensation that grips your soul when you come to the realization that the person who once held a special place in your heart has seemingly moved on, leaving you to drown your sorrows in a desperate attempt to forget them –in this case, alcohol, or to be even more precise, tequila.
Rogándote
En el tequila, ahogándome
Los muchacho’ están invitándome a salir
La paso bien, pero siempre termino extrañándote.»
Grupo Frontera is among the Regional Mexican bands playing an important role in the internationalization of the genre. Let’s not forget that in 2022 they had more than one hit on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, being No Se Va as their leading song. They are part of the artists that are revitalizing the music scene with innovative rhythms and refreshing styles.
This week we have no new entries, but last week’s newest entry Mojabi Ghost by Tainy and Bad Bunny, has taken some positions, going from no.32 to no.27.
Last week’s no.1, Ella baila sola moved down to the fourth spot, but Peso Pluma remains at the top with Lady Gaga, that climbed from no.7 to no.2, and Peso Pluma: BZRP Music Session #55 at no.5 (last week at no.2). Even though la Doble P has moved down some spots, he still is leading the charts with 9 songs at the top 20!
Sebastian Yatra, Manuel Turizo, and Beéle’s Vagabundo, has been slowly climbing from week to week.
Two weeks ago it was at position no.12, last week at no.8, and this week at no.3!
And you? What artists would you like to see in the upcoming weeks of our Lista Los40 USA?
