Shocking Death of Influencer Amanda Borges in Japan Sparks Investigation

Her body was found burned in a hotel room in Narita

Amanda Borges Da Silva, a Brazilian model and influencer known for her love of Formula 1—especially Lewis Hamilton—has died under mysterious circumstances. Her body was found burned in a hotel room in Narita, Japan, on May 1st, but the case has only come to light now following the arrest of the suspected killer.

It was her boyfriend who raised the alarm after losing contact with her. Da Silva, 30, had traveled to Japan for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Suzuka, held on April 6th. A passionate traveler, she chose to stay in the country to continue sharing content with her followers.

Her last Instagram post, shared on April 25th, was a carousel of photos capturing moments that stood out to her during her visit. “Thank you, Lord, for taking such good care of me and allowing me to live these special moments. I’m in love with this country,” she wrote in the caption.

Since the news of her death broke, followers have filled the comments section of that post with messages of grief and farewell.

Man Arrested in Ongoing Investigation

The case remains open and under investigation. While authorities initially believed Amanda may have died in an accidental fire, further evidence led them to suspect foul play. Her personal belongings were missing, and the autopsy revealed injuries and traces of a toxic substance in her system—suggesting she may have been drugged and robbed.

A 31-year-old man from Sri Lanka has been arrested after security footage showed him fleeing the scene of the fire. Investigators now consider him the prime suspect. “Amanda was full of life, passionate about Formula 1, and had a promising future. We just want to know the truth,” her sister told Brazilian media outlets.
