Until January 13, 2026, Julio Iglesias was known as the highest-selling Spanish-language artist worldwide, as well as one of the greatest icons of Latin music globally. However, starting today, he will also be known as another high-profile artist facing accusations of sexual violence.
The Spanish outlet ElDiario.es, in conjunction with Univisión, has published an investigation about the legal complaints of sexual violence and human trafficking filed by two former employees of Julio before the Prosecutor’s Office of the National Court in Spain.

This shocking accusation is supported by the international organization Women’s Link Worldwide, which alleges events that took place between January and October 2021 at Iglesias’ residences in the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.
The crimes and aggravating circumstances present in the complaint against Julio Iglesias are several, reports ElDiario.es in an investigation that has lasted 3 years. These accusations include human trafficking for forced labor and servitude, various crimes against sexual freedom and integrity (such as harassment and sexual assault), injuries and violations of labor rights, intimidation, and physical and verbal humiliations.
Additionally, another surprising issue is the aggravating factor of a criminal group, since although Iglesias is cited as the main perpetrator, it is said that he committed these crimes along with two housekeepers acting as collaborators.

Although the media outlet that published the investigation has contacted Iglesias “by all means,” they have not received any response from the singer. People close to him have responded, expressing doubts about the truthfulness of the accusations.
“He may be a womanizer, but I am not aware nor have I ever heard any suggestion that he could have committed an act of that kind,” declared Miguel Ángel Pastor, Julio Iglesias’ former press chief, to the newspaper.
Although Iglesias has not spoken out yet, that does not rule out the possibility that he might do so in the coming hours in response to this news that has shocked the world.
