While captivating audiences across the U.S. with his electrifying Cosa Nuestra World Tour, Puerto Rican superstar Rauw Alejandro took a heartfelt detour on April 12, 2025, to lead an inspiring event at Valley State Prison in Fresno, California.
Organized by his family-founded nonprofit, Proyecto PaMaRa, the initiative aimed to uplift over 100 incarcerated youth through art, spirituality, and community engagement.
The «PaMaRa x VSP» event marked a significant collaboration between Rauw Alejandro, Proyecto PaMaRa, and longtime prison reform advocate Scott Budnick.
Together with Budnick’s organizations, 1Community and The Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC), the event offered a multifaceted program designed to inspire and rehabilitate.
Activities included group discussions on dreams and purpose, a spirited soccer match featuring inmates, Rauw’s team, and players from Central Valley Fuego FC, and a communal barbecue fostering fellowship. A poignant «Wall of Dreams» allowed participants to express their aspirations, serving as a lasting testament to the day’s impact.
«I left with more than I brought,» Rauw reflected. «Listening to the guys, seeing them so present… it reminded me that, in the end, we all seek the same: to give and receive love, to be heard, and to feel we still have something to offer.»

Founded by Rauw Alejandro and his family, Proyecto PaMaRa is dedicated to transforming lives through its six pillars: spirituality, psychoeducation, art, culture, sports, and the environment. The foundation has positively impacted over 10,000 families, with more than 300 volunteers contributing thousands of service hours.
The initiative at Valley State Prison exemplifies PaMaRa’s commitment to reaching communities in the margins, providing tools for personal growth and emotional well-being. In recognition of its efforts, the California State Senate honored Proyecto PaMaRa for empowering youth and promoting positive change within correctional facilities.
Rauw Alejandro’s visit to Valley State Prison coincided with his «Cosa Nuestra World Tour» in our country, supporting his fifth studio album, Cosa Nuestra, released on November 15, 2024.
His latest studio work pays homage to Latin music traditions, blending reggaeton with salsa, bolero, and merengue, and features collaborations with artists like Bad Bunny, Pharrell Williams, and Romeo Santos.
The tour, which began on April 5 in Seattle, is set to conclude on May 30 in Miami, covering 22 cities across North America. Notably, Rauw’s performance in Fresno on April 13 followed his meaningful engagement at Valley State Prison, highlighting his dedication to both his art and humanitarian efforts.
