Karol G needed a break. Time off. She stepped away for a few months to recharge after several non-stop years. Since 2018, “La Bichota” has been working non-stop. In fact, in 2024 she headlined one of the year’s biggest tours — the Mañana Será Bonito Tour.
Last December, Karol G shared her final post: a letter announcing her upcoming Netflix documentary — a series or film that, according to the platform, will give us a closer look at the Medellín-born star. That was the last time she posted anything.
A month and a half later, the singer of Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido made an appearance at her own gala, Con Cora Land, in Miami. She looked radiant and, for the first time in years, showed off her natural brown hair, leaving behind her signature fantasy-colored locks. She appeared more “Carolina” than ever, hinting at a new era. Still, it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see her again.
On April 13, many fans expected to see her perform alongside Shakira on the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran Tour. Shakira had teased surprises for her shows in Medellín, and many assumed Karol would join her on stage to perform TQG live for the first time. It didn’t happen. Instead, Maluma and Carlos Vives made surprise appearances.

So now fans are asking: When will we see Karol again? Even though she’s only been gone for two months, in the fast-paced world of social media, that feels like a lifetime. At LOS40, we’ve narrowed down two key events where she might make her comeback:
Karol G is one of the biggest Latin stars in the world. She’s been featured on two Vogue covers (Latin America and Spain), which basically guarantees her an invite to the 2025 MET Gala — organized by US Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Each year, designers select celebrities to dress for the event and buy tables for the gala (yes, it’s a fundraiser, and it’s often the fashion houses that place bids). And let’s be honest: who wouldn’t want to dress Karol G? From Jacquemus to Marc Jacobs, she’s built strong relationships with top designers. In 2024, she wore a Marc Jacobs look, styled like a forest elf.
This year, the 2025 MET Gala takes place on Monday, May 5. That could be the day fans finally see her return to the red carpet.
The other possibility? Karol might be saving her return for the launch of her Netflix project — a strategic move to make the premiere even more buzzworthy.
The Medellín star confirmed that the documentary will debut on Netflix sometime in 2025. There’s no official release date yet, but it’s expected to premiere before the summer.
