Karol G is going through a meaningful moment following the release of Tropicoqueta, her fifth studio album. With this project, the Colombian star wanted to pay tribute to the Latin sounds she grew up with—the music that filled her home during childhood.
In her latest interview with Elle Spain, Karol opened up once again about the inspiration behind the album. But she also addressed something fans have been wondering: Will there be a Tropicoqueta tour? Her answer was honest: “We’ve talked about it, and yes, there’s a plan. But I don’t want to do it just because it’s expected of me.”
After dominating stages around the world with her Mañana Será Bonito stadium tour in 2023 and 2024, Karol could be hitting the road again in 2026. Still, she’s not in a hurry. As she explained, she’s taking her time to prepare for something that feels truly meaningful:

“I don’t see tours as just concerts—they’re an emotional experience for me and for my fans. It’s our most intimate moment together, and I want it to happen when it has real artistic depth. I’ll do it when I feel ready to give even more than what people have already seen from me.”
Karol G has shared that, for this new album, she set out to learn how to dance each of the musical genres she explores on the record:
“I’m in a phase of training, not improvising. I’m still working, studying, listening… I moved to New York and started taking classes to learn how to dance the different Latin styles.”
It wouldn’t be surprising if this dance training is part of her preparation for a future tour—one where she brings all that knowledge to the stage. On Tropicoqueta, Karol blends a wide range of Latin genres: from vallenato and cumbia to bachata and merengue.
This upcoming tour could give even more emphasis to dance than her previous one, which already featured choreography—especially through reggaetón. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if Karol announces a Tropicoqueta tour soon—and, more importantly, if she’ll bring it to the United States.
