With blue hair, reminiscent of one of her most iconic eras, Karol G started her final concert of the successful ‘Mañana Será Bonito’ tour at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain. More than 900,000 viewers tuned in to watch the livestream.
‘La Bichota’ wowed the audience by opening with her hit «TQG,» the popular collaboration with Shakira. Although her fellow Colombian wasn’t there, Karol shone brightly, once again showing her incredible talent and charisma on stage.
The next song she performed was «BESTIES.» Looking visibly emotional, Karol mentioned that this was ‘the best night of her life,’ before moving on to «MI CAMA.»
After this song, the Colombian artist shared a few words with her audience, reminiscing about past moments before starting «EL BARCO.» This song, which empowers us to move forward despite the loves that have hurt us, invites us to leave the past behind. “There are no happy or sad endings, only new beginnings, and you are not there.”
To continue with the theme of heartbreak, the singer treated us to her collaboration with Romeo Santos, «X SI VOLVEMOS.» Afterward, ‘La Bichota’ asked the men in the audience to shout, as they were the ones who made her iconic song «TUSA,» with Nicki Minaj, reach number one. With this song, the Colombian artist took us back to the pandemic days, when dancing and listening to it made us feel much better in the midst of adversity.
Karol shared some words about her next song, «AMARGURA,» which reached the top spots worldwide a year after its release. Carolina, as always, leaves us with a lesson: “Sometimes, things take time but eventually find their rightful place.”
A Fairy Tale
On the large screens at the concert, an animation of Karolina ‘the Mermaid’ was shown. Feeling sad, she wondered if her fairy godmother would ever come. Finally, her fairy godmother appears (a butterfly), but unlike the old fairy tales where the fairy helps find a ‘prince charming,’ this one grants ‘self-confidence.’ The mermaid’s hair changes from blue to red, marking the start of her new era. With «BICHOTAG» playing in the background and Karol G atop her metallic shark, she radiated empowerment.
Continuing this era with a black outfit consisting of a skirt, crop top, matching earmuffs, and furry boots, Karol started with «OKI DOKI.» Afterward, she performed one of the biggest hits of 2023, featuring in the remix of «Una Noche en Medellín.»
Thanking the audience for one of the things that make concerts even more special, La Bichota expressed her gratitude to everyone for putting effort into their looks, and then sang her collaboration with Peso Pluma, «QLONA.»
With a green background and lights, Karol started with «FRIKI,» the 2021 song that marked the beginning of her relationship with Feid. Then, with lights in pink and green tones and a dark background, perfectly suited for her song «PINEAPPLE.» The Colombian didn’t forget the thousands of people watching through the screens, greeting everyone following the livestream. She dedicated her next song to all the ‘bichotas’: «BICHOTA,» followed by «EL MAKINÓN.»
Then, she shared her favorite song, the one named after her: «CAROLINA.» Karol also took the time to read some of the signs people had made for the concert, including one that said, “celebrating my mom’s divorce with La Bichota.” Adding a touch of sensuality, she started with «GATÚBELA» and, with a very provocative dance, continued with «TA OK.»
“With This Album, I Learned to Love Myself”
After a few beautiful piano songs, Carolina came back in a stunning white dress with a flower in her ear, showing off her pink hair that defines this era. At this moment, ‘La Bichota’ gave us an emotional speech about the meaning of the album Mañana Será Bonito, reminding us how important it is to believe in ourselves.
The next songs she treated us to were: «OCEAN,» «MERCURIO,» and «MIENTRAS ME CURO DEL CORA,» before reminding us once again that we should live. More importantly, enjoy life like we did when we were kids. Then, she delighted us with «CONTIGO,» «SI ANTES TE HUBIERA CONOCIDO,» «OJOS FERRARI,» «TUS GAFITAS,» and «CAIRO.»
With a strong Mexican vibe, Karol sang «MI EX TENÍA RAZÓN.» With a loud shout in honor of the country, she exclaimed, “¡Dale México!” Then, she embraced the style of regional Mexican music, complete with an accordion, to perform «200 COPAS.» She continued with her collaboration with Becky G, «MAMII,» and got everyone dancing with «S91» and «PROVENZA.»
Karol G has left us with many emotions, tears, and smiles during this amazing tour. She always reminds us that not only will ‘tomorrow be beautiful,’ but we must also believe in ourselves, in our dreams, and be who we want to be, always respecting others.
