The well-known love story between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck isn’t new; it dates back to 2002 when they first started dating. They got engaged in 2003 but broke up suddenly in 2004, just days before their wedding. However, fate brought them back together, and they gave their relationship another try after Affleck divorced his ex-wife, actress Jennifer Garner, whom he married in 2005 and divorced in 2018.
In 2021, ‘Bennifer,’ as the couple was known in the early 2000s, started dating again and got married at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022. On July 24th, Jennifer celebrated her 55th birthday with a big Bridgerton-themed party. But one notable absence was Ben Affleck. While JLo was celebrating, People reported that Ben Affleck bought a $20.5 million mansion in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. Additionally, the duplex López was selling in New York finally sold for $23 million after being on and off the market for 7 years. According to the Daily Mail, Lopez’s friends said that Affleck’s sudden purchase of a bachelor pad on her birthday felt like a ‘stab in the heart.’
Daily Mail affirms that the couple is moving forward with their divorce after a final attempt at reconciliation failed recently. Additionally, the divorce papers are ‘finalized but have not yet been served,’ according to several sources. A source close to the artists mentioned, “They finished the divorce papers a month ago, but they’re waiting for the right moment to serve them.”
“When the time comes, they will issue a joint statement saying how much they love each other and how hard they tried to make it work, but couldn’t. Honestly, in the end, they couldn’t reach an agreement. What they had before is gone, and both have accepted it,” said another source. From these statements, it looks like the love story between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck will come to an end, probably for good this time.
