There are celebrity couples we know very little about, but there are others who are constantly in the spotlight, with their lives making headlines. To understand the love story between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, we need to go back to 2001 when they met on the set of Gigli. At that time, Jennifer was married to Cris Judd, but they ended up separating.
A few months later, Ben and Jennifer started dating, and they even got engaged shortly after. However, their wedding plans fell through as they decided to cancel it just three days before the scheduled date. Their relationship was marked by ups and downs until they finally broke up in 2004.

But some people are meant to be together, and fate is unpredictable. It gave them another shot in 2021. After the Covid-19 pandemic, Ben had just split up with the Spanish actress Ana de Armas, and JLo decided not to marry Álex Rodríguez. So they decided to give their relationship another try, and this time, it worked out, leading to a wedding in Las Vegas just one year later.
The press has caught them arguing at various events, indicating that they face challenges like any other couple. In fact, the current crisis they may be experiencing seems more complex than initially anticipated.
The magazine In Touch Weekly has interviewed a source close to the couple to shed light on their situation. It seems that Ben and Jennifer are seeking couples therapy because, according to reports, they spend their days arguing over every little thing.
“They’re headed for a divorce, and for once, (Ben’s) not to blame! He’s focusing on his work and his kids now,” the source added. “Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.” the source continued.
The biggest issue seemed to be how they each dealt with being in the public eye—Lopez welcomed media attention while Affleck avoided it. Though this epic love story has taken years to reignite, the reasons they broke up in the past still exist. “They both said they’d matured and learned from their mistakes, but some of the bigger issues that tore them apart the first time remained the same,” the source concluded.
Sadly, sometimes love isn’t enough to sustain a relationship.
