Jennifer Lopez has had us waiting for nearly a decade since her last studio album, and it’s been over two decades since she released This Is Me… Then. However, it seems like the long wait is finally coming to an end. JLo is getting ready to drop This Is Me… Now, which continues her story with Ben Affleck, a journey that was interrupted by the end of their engagement.
Through her official Instagram account, she recently gave us a taste with a 20-second teaser, and it’s packed with hints about what’s in store. The message “See it. Hear it. Live it” seems to be the guiding theme for this album’s release. Towards the end of the teaser, she states: “This musical experience is a manifestation, through music, film, and reality of life’s journey on the search of the truth about love.” It’s clear that Jennifer Lopez has something significant planned for her new musical project.
This project includes both music and visuals, effectively turning each song into a sort of short film. Now, all we need to do is wait for confirmation on whether she’ll release it exclusively on the ‘On the JLo’ website mentioned in the teaser or if we’ll be able to enjoy it on other platforms.

Lopez’s ninth album in her career will be released through BMG and will feature production from notable artists like Rogét Chahayed, Angel Lopez, and Jeff ‘Gitty’ Gitelman. She’s also collab with composers and producers such as Hitboy, Ink, Tay Keith, Yeti Beats, Carter Lang, Kim ‘Kaydence’ Krysiuk. This Is Me… Now was created between 2022 and 2023 in Lopez’s Los Angeles home studio. According to the label’s press release, it’s “an exciting musical trilogy that showcases her remarkable talents as a singer, actor, and dancer.”
The artist has kept the making of this album under wraps, taking inspiration from her love story with Ben Affleck. She shared, “Twenty years ago I fell in love with the love of my life. I was working on an album and it was called This Is Me…Then. It was all about capturing that moment in time. Now, the most amazing, incredible, unbelievable thing has happened,” Lopez Affleck told host Zane Lowe. “The reason we’re here is because I want to capture this moment in time because it is even better than the first time.”
This project holds immense significance for her, who has always been resolute about the message she intends to convey with this album, it’s: “kind of a culmination of who I am as a person and an artist. People think they know things about what happened to me along the way, the men I was with—but they really have no idea, and a lot of times they get it so wrong. There’s a part of me that was hiding a side of myself from everyone. And I feel like I’m at a place in my life, finally, where I have something to say about it.” Jennifer Lopez elaborated in the Vogue cover article.
