She also changed her name on all her social media accounts to simply 'Danna'

Since Danna Paola revealed just before the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards that she had completed her new music project, her fans have been eagerly awaiting any hint about its release. Along with this announcement, she teased the arrival of the album’s most emotional song, «AÚN TE QUIERO,» which received mixed feedback despite its initial positive reception.

However, there’s been an unexpected twist. Just a few days ago, Danna Paola changed her name on all her social media accounts to simply ‘Danna.’ This move suggests a shift in her musical style, a departure from the norm where artists typically delete all their Instagram posts, like Belinda did before releasing her beef song «Cactus,» or as Dua Lipa did before announcing her new albums.

Childstar

Now, under the name ‘Danna’ alone, she’s confirmed that her new album will be titled Childstar and is scheduled for release on April 11th. While the full tracklist, featuring 13 songs, remains partly undisclosed, we already know some titles, such as «XT4S1S,» «1TRAGO,» «TENEMOS QUE HABLAR,» and «AÚN TE QUIERO.»

Her last album, K.O., came out in 2021 and shares similar color themes; both albums prominently feature red and black hues, with touches of white and gray. However, Childstar has a noticeably darker vibe, as reflected in its artwork depicting Danna in the center of a circle, surrounded by figures who seem more intent on reaching her than supporting her, almost like a horde of zombies closing in.

Given Danna’s personal background, it’s reasonable to expect that her childhood experiences will play a significant role in the album. From a young age, she’s been a ‘Child-star’ in both TV and the music scene, particularly in Mexico, though her fame has since spread globally. Before announcing the album, Danna shared a video from her early years, already surrounded by fans and arriving in a luxurious limousine. The caption read, “Lucky to be a star, so why am I falling?”

As pieces of the puzzle come together, it’s becoming increasingly clear how personal this album will be for her. She’s revealed that the video for «TENEMOS QUE HABLAR» was equally personal, and she even appears with blonde hair in some scenes, which she admitted was almost forced upon her at one point in her career. What other secrets will Danna unveil in Childstar?
