Travis Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, won the Super Bowl 2024, and the fact that his girlfriend Taylor Swift was finally in the stadium and kissed him in a moment of such excitement has been a true sports, music, and social celebration.

There was a lot to talk about regarding the most-watched event worldwide. The singer stole the show, as all eyes were on her possible attendance despite the concert she had scheduled in Asia. She attended the final from a box where she was accompanied by the rapper Ice Spice and the actress Blake Lively.

But she wasn’t the only celebrity at the game. Also present were Jay Z, Justin Bieber with his wife Hailey, Lady Gaga, Leonardo DiCaprio, Paul McCartney, Kendall Jenner, Lana del Rey, Ariana Grande, Luis Fonsi, Elon Musk, and Jared Leto.

They all watched the game that gave victory to Kelce’s team. They enjoyed the halftime show by Usher, who pulled out all the stops, dancing on skates and even tearing his shirt, with the collaboration of artists like Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., Lil Jon, and Ludacris.

However, one of the top protagonists of the 2024 Super Bowl was undoubtely Beyoncé. The diva took advantage of the coveted commercial at the event to reveal some highly anticipated news.

Beyoncé’s BIG Announcement

However, there is undoubtedly news that has overshadowed everything else. Beyoncé has been the star of one of those coveted commercials seen by millions of people. Hers was for the telecommunications company Verizon.

In it, she invited her followers to look for an official announcement on social media, something that was going to «break the internet.» In the ad, we see her alongside Tony Hale, an actor from the series Veep.

Over just over a minute, she tries in various ways to go viral on the internet. She doesn’t succeed by smashing a lemonade stand, presenting Beyoncé as an artificial intelligence version, transforming into Barbie, or declaring herself a candidate for the President of the United States. Not even by becoming the first woman to travel to space to perform.

«Okay, they’re ready: drop the new music. I told everyone that the Renaissance is not over,» she concludes. It’s her way of announcing a new album: The Act II.

Two New Songs

She then posted another video on social media, showing her driving a car with a Texas license plate, her home state. There, she announced the release of the second volume of her trilogy on March 29 and made it clear that this album’s style is country. When we saw her at the Grammy Awards 2024 a few days ago with a cowboy hat, she was already dropping hints.

In addition, she introduced two new songs at once, «Texas Hold ‘Em» and «16 Carriages.» The first features acoustic guitars, a kick drum, and vocals, while the second leans towards an epic and orchestral arrangement in the choruses.

After paying homage to the culture of black dance clubs in the first album of the trilogy, she now ventures into country, not for the first time. This is her eighth album that has arrived with impact, as she claimed in the commercial, breaking the internet. It follows the footsteps of Renaissance, released in 2022.

Both songs feature the contribution of the producer Raphael Saadiq, known for hits like «How Does It Feel?» by D’Angelo and collaborations with Beyoncé’s sister, Solange.

Rumors of a residency at the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas after Phish and Dead & Company of U2 seem increasingly solid.
