A few days ago, Cristiano Ronaldo once again went viral for the millions he was making from one of his businesses. And no, it had nothing to do with soccer. The Portuguese star has decided to invest his money in various sectors, including his line of hotels and URSU9, his brand of water.

But what surprised social media was the success of his hair transplant clinics, Insparya. The aesthetic medicine business managed to make a profit of 1.8 million euros during the COVID pandemic and is still expanding. This curious way of increasing his wealth has led us to wonder, what do superstars invest in?

From Karol G to David Beckham, we review some of the top businesses of today’s celebrities and artists to find out the secret of success in the jet-set.

Karol G: Real Estate & a Collaboration in the Automotive World

According to Bloomberg, the Colombian’s net worth exceeded $25 million, as of January 2023, before the release of her most successful album, «Mañana Será Bonito,» and the highest-grossing tour by a Latin artist in the United States, earning nearly $70 million from 33 shows.

Part of Karol G’s investments are in the real estate sector. She owns around four luxury properties in the United States (in Miami and Los Angeles) and in Colombia.

But that’s not the only area the Medellín native has ventured into. Some of her earnings also go toward the world of motorsports, as she sponsored Colombian driver Tatiana Calderón in Formula 2, part of the Charouz Racing System. The racer’s car featured the «Bichota» and «Karol G» logos. The reason for this partnership was due to Calderón’s IndyCar season being delayed due to sponsorship payment issues, and Karol wanted to help. «It aims to convey a message of female empowerment that sponsorships in this type of sport reach women and not just men,» revealed Jéssica Giraldo, Karol’s sister.

Now, Karol is considering a grand return to her hometown, Medellín, Colombia, with a festival inspired by «Mañana Será Bonito,» taking cues from the operation of other major festivals like Coachella or Tomorrowland.

Maluma

Besides being a reggaeton superstar, Maluma is an active investor. The Colombian singer is involved in startups in his home country, including the real estate proptech La Haus and Rappi, the first delivery unicorn in the country. He has also directed his earnings toward the liquor and fashion industries, and, of course, music. In 2022, Maluma invested in the music download platform Trebel.

Bad Bunny

The Puerto Rican artist currently has a fortune of around $40 million, according to the popular portal Celebrity Net Worth. Obviously, his main source of income is his music and concerts, but it’s not the only business through which «El Conejo Malo» makes money.

Bad Bunny has invested in the restaurant industry and the sports sector. In 2021, he became a co-owner of the basketball team «Los Cangrejos de Santurce,» partnering with his producer Noah Assad (whom he dedicates kind words to in his latest album, by the way). More and more people are becoming familiar with his exclusive restaurant in Miami, Gekko (which has been visited by Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos and other well-known faces). He has also ventured into the world of film with a movie co-starring Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock.

Peso Pluma

Undoubtedly, 2023 is the year of the Mexican artist, who has become an icon in the corridos tumbados and the music of his home country. The ‘Doble P»s net worth is estimated to be between $5 and $10 million, earning between $68,000 and $111,000 per performance. The artist has used his rapid rise to invest in his own record label, ‘Doble P Records.’ It has also been reported that the Mexican has invested in real estate.

David Beckham

As we saw in the famous Netflix documentary, the former England captain has made various investments throughout his career. David Beckham owns real estate properties around the world with his wife Victoria Beckham, along with the investment fund DB Ventures. In 2018, he bought Inter Miami for $25 million, a soccer club where Messi currently plays. Beckham has diversified his investment portfolio, focusing on the future by also betting on eSports and cannabis, investing in the English company Cellular Goods.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé is not just one of the most influential figures in music but also has the ideal perspective to expand her businesses into other areas, capitalizing on her career. In 2022, investment platforms estimated the diva’s income at $500 million. Alongside Jay-Z, they have been named the first pop billionaire couple.

Through her company Parkwood Entertainment, the singer produces everything from music to her own tour, as in the case of the Renaissance World Tour, which brings her greater profits than other artists who also tour worldwide. Through the company, Beyoncé has also produced movies like «Cadillac Records» and «Obsessed,» as well as her latest tour film, set to be released on December 1.

Additionally, the artist has launched fashion items, such as her Ivy Park line for the English brand Topshop, and is also a co-owner of TIDAL, the music subscription service that her husband Jay-Z bought in 2015.

Kim Kardashian

The question may be what Kim Kardashian doesn’t invest in. The businesswoman from America’s most famous TV family has diversified her wealth into multiple areas. Kim has a net worth of $1.6 billion, with annual earnings of $80 million.

Her earnings come from the profits she makes from her various brands, in addition to the broadcasting of her family reality show, «Keeping Up With the Kardashians,» for which she receives $10 million annually for image rights. Kim also owns her own cosmetics line (formerly KKW Beauty, now SKKN after her divorce from rapper Kanye West), her famous SKIMS underwear brand (which has gone viral in recent days thanks to a unique bra announcement), and one of her most recent ventures, SKKY Partners, a private equity firm co-founded by Kim and Jay Sammons, focused on making control and minority investments in consumer and media companies.

In general, the Kardashian and Jenner sisters have used their wealth and social status to start their own businesses: Kylie Jenner with her makeup line, «Kylie Cosmetics,» a sales success, and the «Kendall + Kylie» clothing line with her sister Kendall Jenner, who has also invested in the world of alcoholic beverages with her tequila brand «818,» selling over a million and a half bottles. It’s also worth noting Khloé Kardashian’s clothing brand, «Good American,» and Kourtney Kardashian’s online lifestyle and wellness store, «Poosh.»
