It’s been over two weeks since we were shocked to learn of the tragedy that Matthew Perry, the iconic actor who portrayed Chandler in the most successful sitcom of all time, ‘Friends,’ had passed away at his Los Angeles home.
Just a few days later, the entire cast of the famous series released a joint statement through People magazine in response to the terrible news, signed by all the main cast members, who were also his friends and, according to Perry himself, his great supports in his worst moments: Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courteney Cox (Monica), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), David Schwimmer (Ross), and Matt LeBlanc (Joey).
Now, it’s the latter who wanted to say goodbye individually to his friend and colleague, with whom he shared success for 10 years. LeBlanc and Perry had a camaraderie that went beyond fiction, just like the affection they had for each other. The actor reflected this in very emotional words dedicated to Matthew:
“Matthew,
It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life.
It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you, and I’ll never forget you. Never.
Spread your wings and fly, brother; you’re finally free. Much love.
And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me,” the actor wrote on Instagram.

In the same way they did on ‘Friends,’ both actors manage to bring a small smile to our faces while touching our hearts.
According to the latest information, it is known that the actor died in an apparent drowning accident at his Los Angeles home, where he was found unconscious in his jacuzzi.
However, the exact cause of death is still pending the results of toxicology tests after his initial autopsy, in which no traces of fentanyl or methamphetamines were found. No obvious signs of trauma were found, and no suspicion of any crime exists. The Robbery and Homicide Division of the Los Angeles Police Department is still investigating the actor’s death.»
