Taylor Swift is one of the artists who has left an indelible mark on the music industry since her beginnings. Without even mentioning the impact she has made on the hearts of millions of people, whether you’re a fan or not, probably more than one of her songs have resonated with you at some point of your life.

From her country origins to her pop empire, Taylor’s evolution mirrors the transitions and growth of multiple generations, and her influence shows no signs of stoping. If you consider yourself a true Swiftie, here are some facts about her that you must be aware of (if you don’t know them already). 

Taylor’s Full Name

The singer’s parents decided to name her Taylor Alison Swift. 

When and Where Was Taylor Born? 

She was born on December 13, 1989, in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Eventually, Taylor’s family moved to Nashville to support her pursuit of a music career. 

A Girl of Fire 

Due to her birth date, Tay Tay is a Sagittarius, a fire sign that consistently radiates strength in everything she does. A Sagittarius person is typically adventurous, optimistic, independent, and are known for their energetic and passionate nature.

Her height is 5’10 without heels! If she wanted, she could have been a supermodel. 

Pure Talent 

Taylor became the youngest artist to be signed by the Sony label. Shortly after, she left to join the inaugural talent roster of the newly established record label, Big Machine Records, at just 14 years old. 

Her self-titled album Taylor Swift was launched in October 2006, containing three songs written entirely by the country singer herself, along with others co-written in collaboration. This debut album climbed to number 5 on the charts upon its release, and it held onto that position for an uninterrupted span of 157 weeks.

This song by the group Sixpence None the Richer was the first one she learned to play on the guitar. This song was quite popular in the late ’90s. 

Cat «Lover» 

Today, she has three feline companions who are significant members of her life: Meredith, Olivia, and Benjamin Button.

Not Superstitious 

While the number 13 is considered unlucky by many, it’s Taylor’s favorite number. It might be due to her birthdate or simply because she likes it. The fact is that the singer has won major awards at ceremonies that took place on the 13th.

In a 2015 interview, Taylor revealed that she is a big fan of the successful television series Friends. 

Philanthropy 

The singer is also known for her generosity. The news recently spread that she gave $100,000 bonuses to the crew of The Eras Tour. However, she is committed to charitable causes and philanthropic works. 

She has donated substantial amounts of money to various organizations, including cancer research, education, and assisting disaster victims. Notably, in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she extended her support by donating funds to assist those who were impacted by the crisis.  

Acting Skills

Yes, Taylor is not only an incredibly talented singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, and a fashion icon, but she also knows how to act. In addition to making cameo appearances as herself, she had more developed roles in the films ‘Valentine’s Day’ in 2010, ‘The Giver’ in 2014, and even the more recent (and a bit awkward) version of ‘Cats’ in 2019.
