Rauw Alejandro’s Song At the Latin Grammys 2023 ‘Se Fue’: English Lyrics Translation

Rauw Alejandro’s appearance was another highlight at the Latin Grammys 2023 held this past November 16 for the first time outside the United States. Artists and celebrities linked to Latin music gathered this Thursday in Seville, the capital of flamenco, to celebrate the 24th edition of the gala. A night full of unforgettable moments and emotionally charged performances, such as Rauw’s.

The artist has had a challenging year after his recent engagement with Spanish singer Rosalía ended, who also captivated the audience with a rendition of «Se Nos Rompió el Amor,» a flamenco ballad about heartbreak. Additionally, the Puerto Rican singer recently canceled his tour in Latin America. However, we’ve seen Rauw rise again as if he were a phoenix, with a strength and a stage presence that has left us in awe.

First, the Saturno (2022)  author began with an acoustic performance that gave us goosebumps, surrounded by candles and with an incredible vocal strength singing «Se Fue» by Laura Pausini, named Person of the Year 2023 by the Recording Academy, the organizer of the Latin Grammys. A song that precisely speaks about the departure of a loved one. A delicate personal theme that Rauw Alejandro has addressed on other occasions after his breakup with Rosalía, even composing a song for her, «Hayami Hana.»

Rauw concluded his performance in the most surprising way possible, in a rock style with «Baby Hello,» one of his collaborations with the winner of up to three Latin Grammys in this edition, Bizarrap. Additionally, he was accompanied by none other than Juanes on the electric guitar. An epic ending that symbolizes the resurgence after a very tough life moment and hints at the process the artist has undergone in recent weeks.
