Tonight, the vibrant Latin music scene is coming alive in Seville as the Latin Grammy Awards 2023 are being held internationally for the very first time, breaking away from their traditional location in the United States. This prestigious event has gathered an impressive lineup of stars, including Karol G, Shakira, Rosalía, Pablo Alborán, Alejandro Sanz, and, of course, Rauw Alejandro.
Rauw Alejandro, the Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and dancer, made a striking appearance on the red carpet with his unconventional black suit featuring a deconstructed design and a bold front opening that exposed his tattooed chest. After posing for photos, he took some time to answer questions from the journalists at LOS40.
During the Interview…
Rauw shared his thoughts on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the music industry: “Technology has its merits and can be a powerful tool, but it must be used wisely. It has brought both positive and negative changes to our lives. While it has undeniably contributed to our human development, some have also misused it. If we focus on its positive applications, I believe it can be beneficial for all,” explained the artist behind «Todo de Ti.»
“As for the artistic realm, I don’t think we’ll ever see a robot matching the depth of human artistry, but who knows,” he added, acknowledging that he has come across some AI-generated songs that have impressed him.
When asked about his favorite nominees for the night, Rauw admitted that his recent busy schedule has kept him from keeping up with the latest details. “I recently completed a tour, and I’m here as a nominee; that’s the extent of my knowledge at the moment,” he shared. “Nevertheless, I’m honored to be here among such talented colleagues. I recognize that this event brings together some of the finest artists globally, and it’s a privilege to share this evening with them,” he added.
Looking Ahead to 2024 & a New Album
Rauw Alejandro revealed to LOS40 that he’s already working on fresh musical material. However, he expressed his desire to take a break from the demands of touring and the hectic professional life he’s experienced throughout 2022 and 2023.
«As for the coming year, it holds exciting prospects, with my focus squarely set on 2024. There are several surprises in the pipeline,» he teased. Will there be a new album? «Absolutely, a new album is in the works, and I’m fully dedicated to it. However, I can’t provide a specific release date just yet. I’m in no hurry. Right now, I plan to take some well-deserved rest, but you can be assured that a rejuvenated Rauw Alejandro is on the horizon,» he concluded.
