Yes, the iconic NBC late-night show, Saturday Night Live, is making its triumphant return! They have officially unveiled their plans for the highly anticipated 49th season. So, let’s all mark our calendars for October 14, 2023, as the comeback of SNL promises a night of laughter and music with Pete Davidson as the host. Let’s not forget that his hosting debut was initially scheduled for May 6, 2023, with Lil Uzi Vert as the musical guest. However, all upcoming episodes were abruptly halted on May 2 due to the writers’ strike.
But now, we can finally rejoice as the premiere is set to make up for lost time. Furthermore, this premiere will be a momentous occasion as it marks Ice Spice‘s debut appearance on the SNL stage after winning the ‘Best New Artist’ category at the 2023 VMA’s. The excitement doesn’t stop there; SNL has something special in store for the following week. On October 21, 2023, Bad Bunny will not only take center stage as the musical guest but will also make his debut as an SNL host!

Bad Bunny is no stranger to the SNL family, having made a memorable cameo during a pandemic-era ‘Saturday Night Live At Home’ episode in April 2020. His first appearance as a musical guest was in February 2021.
After shutting down in May due to the strike by the Writers Guild of America that halted production nationwide, as we mentioned before, several planned episodes of Saturday Night Live were postponed. During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Davidson humorously joked, “Of course that would happen to me.”
The May lineup also included plans for Kieran Culkin to host an episode, and Jennifer Coolidge was set to headline the canceled season finale. Instead, the episode featuring Ana de Armas from April 15 ended up serving as the season 48 finale. In other news, SNL has confirmed that the entire cast from the previous season will be returning for season 49, with no cast departures. Additionally, there will be a new addition to the SNL team, as newcomer Chloe Troast is set to become a featured cast.
