Billboard Music Awards 2023: Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, Drake, SZA & Miley Cyrus Win Big
The award ceremony changed its format to honor the great artists in the United States.

Far from being a typical awards ceremony, with accolades given out at different events and pre-recorded videos in various settings… That’s how we experienced the most recent edition of the 2023 Billboard Music Awards. The prestigious awards presented by the popular U.S. music magazine took place rhis November 19th and ended up distributing honors among many different artists such as Morgan Wallen (11), Taylor Swift (10), Drake (5), SZA (4), Miley Cyrus (3), Bad Bunny (3), Beyoncé (3), and Karol G (2), among others.
In the Spanish category, it must be noted that Rosalía left empty-handed, as happened a few days ago during the Latin Grammys ceremony in Seville. Because the Latin category was dominated by a single woman: Karol G. The Medellín native left the Spanish audience without an award, but they could still enjoy the usual naturalness and spontaneity of the Colombian when she went up to receive her first double award. She was one of the big stars of the night and confirmed it with her performance, where she combined several of her hits, including «Qlona,» in addition to an unreleased song that will be her collaboration for Kali Uchis’s upcoming album.
Great Performances at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards
In addition to Karol G’s spectacular performance, the Billboard organization had on stage prominent figures in music such as David Guetta and Bebe Rexha, who shared the interpretation of «I’m Good (Blue),» Tate McRae, Peso Pluma, and Mike Tyson with Rubicon, or Mariah Carey, among others, who, for the first time, performed her global hit «All I Want for Christmas Is You» during an awards ceremony on television.
In fact, the song earned her the special Billboard Music Awards Achievement in Chart Awards for her tireless success year after year. And along with this Christmas song, there was a mix of K-pop, country music, pop-rock, rap-hip hop, urban sounds, and Latin music. A varied ceremony for all tastes.
Taylor Swift Equals Drake
In a final sprint worthy of the best sprinters in the history of athletics, both Morgan Wallen and Taylor Swift began winning in all categories. The country singer took home a whopping 11 microphones, while Taylor Swift finally won 10 awards.
Only 5 awards separated the American from Drake in the overall history of these recognitions, so adding the rapper’s 5 from today and the singer’s 10, they are now tied in the historical record of the highest winners of the BBMAs: Drake 39 and Taylor Swift 39.
