Now that Daddy Yankee has returned to the music industry, reggaeton fans have welcomed summer in a big way. But for the Puerto Rican artist, there are no limits. After sparking rumors of a collaboration with BTS, the well-known K-Pop group, this crossover with South Korean pop is getting closer to reality.
Yankee was in South Korea a few weeks ago, and while there, he visited the agency Hybe, which not only works with BTS but also represents other international K-Pop stars. One of those bands is ENHYPEN, who shared a photo with the Puerto Rican icon.
In the photo posted by the group, all seven members are seen with the singer of “Sonríele.” “I was in Korea and met this group, super cool everyone, blessings!” Yankee wrote in the caption.
Estuve en Korea y conocí a este grupo, super cool todos, Bendiciones! https://t.co/c4Wx4jfhyC

As expected, this meeting caused a frenzy among ENHYPEN fans, who are now calling for a musical collaboration with the group. It wouldn’t be the first time an urban genre artist teamed up with a K-Pop star. Past collaborations include Sebastián Yatra with Monsta X, TXT with Anitta, Super Junior with Leslie Grace, and Super Junior with Reik, among others.
But this meeting wasn’t by chance. The reggaetonero has signed with Hybe Latin America, the agency’s Latin American branch. Are collaborations with top Asian artists on the way?
One thing is clear: Daddy Yankee is back in the music scene after announcing his retirement three years ago. And he hasn’t returned just anywhere — his new single blends urban sounds with positive messages. The music video was filmed in Bushwick, New York, a meaningful place in the artist’s life. The news, accompanied by a video featuring Anthony Ramos, has been celebrated by friends like J Balvin and Justin Quiles, who see this release as a rebirth of classic reggaeton.
What about you — would you like to hear Daddy Yankee collaborate with ENHYPEN, BTS, or another K-Pop artist?
