On October 14, she also changed her profile picture for the first time since Motomami

Rosalía’s fourth album is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2025 — and fans have been waiting for it for quite some time. Over the past months, the Spanish artist has been dropping hints track by track, with the project being temporarily referred to as R4. Some online leaks suggested that the album might drop in November 2025, although that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Now, there’s a stronger sense that the project is getting closer. On October 14, Rosalía changed her profile picture for the first time since Motomami, signaling the start of a new musical era. The image shows a beam of light, keeping with a celestial, almost divine aesthetic.

On Instagram, she marked the moment with a photodump of herself at a restaurant wearing a T-shirt that read “God complex.” The clues seem to fit together. Themes of light and darkness, white and black contrasts, doves, and now a clear nod to the idea of the messiah.
Rosalía has been teasing this new phase for months. Back in June, she registered the name LUX, giving fans the first real hint of what’s coming.

Her recent photoshoots and public appearances featuring religious and spiritual imagery suggest that this next album will explore those concepts even further. Then, just a day later, on October 15, Rosalía added another mysterious move to the mix — she deactivated her X account (formerly Twitter).

More Clues Keep Dropping

One of her latest moves was launching a Substack, where she’s opened up about her creative process in a deeply personal way. Her most recent post, “Una escalera hasta Dios” (“A Stairway to God”), paired with a photo of opera legend María Callas. It explores singing as a metaphor for freedom, creativity, and spiritual transcendence.

She describes the body as an instrument, suggesting that singing means pushing beyond physical and emotional limits, turning it into an act of resistance and self-expression.

Another detail that caught fans’ attention was a musical score titled ‘Berghain,’ a clear reference to the exclusive Berlin techno club, hinting that her new sound might dive into electronic territory. Before deactivating her X account, Rosalía also posted the cryptic message “LUX = LOVE,” which seems to link the upcoming album to reflections on love and devotion.

Fans have been piecing everything together — sharing theories, tracking her every move, and spotting possible clues like a rumored new Instagram account or mysterious projections in places like Plaza de Callao in Madrid. The excitement around the LUX era keeps building.

In recent weeks, alleged leaked documents have also surfaced online, showing that Rosalía may have registered new songs titled ‘Carcelera,’ ‘No More Dramah,’ and ‘La Vida Es Chula.’

What Does ‘LUX’ Mean?

Rosalía registered the word ‘LUX’ in mid-2025. The term comes from Latin and literally means “light.” In its technical definition, it’s the unit of illuminance in the International System. It is the amount of light that falls on a surface receiving one lumen per square meter.

On her now-deactivated Twitter account, she also reflected on the divine and creative meaning of light. “Light cannot be seen, only its effect on things,” she wrote back in 2014. Other old posts she recently reshared included lines like “The bow resembles the body, the arrow is the Spirit, and the target to be pierced is God,” and “Ten thousand angels shining down the avenues.”

Each one points to a fascination with transcendence, creation, and the link between art and divinity — themes that might define the world of LUX.
