Rauw Alejandro, one of the most acclaimed artists in the world, will be honored with the 2025 Hispanic Heritage Award in the Vision category. An accolade that celebrates his cultural impact and his innovation within Latin music.

The ceremony will take place on September 4 at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. This isn’t just about recognizing his talent. It’s also about honoring his ability to represent a whole generation of Latin artists who are reshaping the global music scene. His album Cosa Nuestra is a prime example, serving as a tribute to the Puerto Rican immigrants who arrived in New York in the early 20th century.

“As an artist constantly on the move, Rauw Alejandro embodies the essence of the Vision Award: bold in his creativity, global in his outlook, and authentic in every step he takes,” said Antonio Tijerino, president and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation.

Cosa Nuestra

This recognition comes on the heels of the success of Rauw’s fifth album, Cosa Nuestra, released in November 2024. The project debuted at #1 globally on Apple Music and Spotify, and landed at #6 on the Billboard 200. Billboard called it “an ambitious album with New York roots and a clear narrative,” featuring powerhouse collaborations with Bad Bunny, Romeo Santos, and Laura Pausini.

Rauw, for his part, shared words that reflect his deep connection to his roots. “Cosa Nuestra has been my way of representing my island, my culture, and my people—wherever they are. Every beat, every visual, every dance move reflects our Puerto Rican roots and our bond with other sister cultures. This award fills me with pride and pushes me to keep elevating our story from a special place.”

Since his debut with Afrodisíaco (2020), certified 6x Platinum by the RIAA, Rauw has proven his artistry goes way beyond genre limits. He’s earned praise from outlets like The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and NPR, and worked with heavyweights such as Pharrell Williams, Shakira, and Selena Gomez.
