Lynn Ban, a celebrated jewelry designer and prominent star of Netflix’s Bling Empire: New York, tragically passed away on January 20 at the age of 52. The incident followed a skiing accident on Christmas Eve at Aspen, after which she underwent emergency surgery.
Ban had shared her ordeal on social media, recounting the life-changing event:
«In the blink of an eye… life can change. On Christmas Eve, on a beautiful sunny day in Aspen with my family, I had a skiing accident that altered my life. I fell face-first at the top of the mountain. Thankfully, I always wear a helmet. It didn’t seem too bad at the time, and I was able to ski to the bottom. After an evaluation, I was discharged. I had a slight headache but thought I’d be fine after lunch and ready to ski again… but the doctor suggested I go to the hospital,» she wrote.

«That decision saved my life. I took a taxi with Jett, and within 30 minutes, I was told I had a brain hemorrhage and needed to be airlifted to a trauma hospital. The last thing I remember was being intubated and waking up after emergency brain surgery with Jett by my side. There’s a long road to recovery ahead, but I’m a survivor and grateful for the ski patrol, the incredible team of doctors and nurses, and the ❤️ and support of my family and friends 🙏🏼 GOD IS GOOD 🙏🏼,» she shared alongside a post-surgery photo.
Sadly, Ban’s recovery did not progress as hoped. On Monday, January 20, her son Sebastián announced her passing through a heartfelt message on social media.
«I know she wanted to share her experience after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one final post to share the news with those who supported her,» he began.
«Many of you followed my mom, but you never had the chance to meet her in person. I want to take this opportunity to share who my mom truly was. She was, and always will be, my best friend, the best mom to me, and someone who cared deeply for everyone,» Sebastián wrote.

He described her as someone who always wore a smile, even through the challenging recovery process. «She was a fighter until the very end and the strongest woman I know,» he added, calling her the most fun and incredible mom.
«Though she’s no longer here, I’ll do everything I can to ensure we never forget her and celebrate her life as she deserves.»
In his final words to her, Sebastián shared: «As a final message to my mom, I want to say I’ll miss you forever. I’ll end with something she always said to me: ‘I love you more than life itself, Mom.’»
Fans can remember Lynn Ban through Bling Empire: New York, where she dazzled audiences as part of a stylish, high-society Asian-American group flaunting their wealth, fashion, and drama while living extravagantly in New York City.
