Amid the buzz of celebrity engagements, like Taylor Swift’s and Georgina Rodríguez’s, there was also talk about a rumored breakup between Lamine Yamal and Nicki Nicole. Neither of them ever confirmed being together, but a handful of videos and photos had fans convinced there was definitely something going on.
Now, it seems the FC Barcelona star is more in love than ever. Thanks to his national teammate Nico Williams’ Instagram, we’ve gotten a glimpse of just how smitten Yamal looks these days. Sometimes, small gestures speak louder than words—especially when it comes to love.
In a clip Nico shared after Spain’s match against Turkey, he zooms in on Yamal in the locker room and, laughing, asks why he’s smiling so much. Yamal, clearly blushing, shows his phone wallpaper: a picture of himself—shirtless—next to Nicole. He even blows a kiss to the camera, making the moment impossible to misinterpret. “My boy’s in love,” Nico teases in the video.

With Yamal’s latest show of love for his girl, it’s pretty clear the breakup rumors don’t hold up. The two seem more into each other than ever. That might also explain why Lamine wiped his socials of pictures with the Argentine singer: not because of trouble between them, but likely to avoid the wave of hate comments aimed at her.
The first hints came when paparazzi spotted the pair leaving Barcelona’s airport. But the moment fans really took it as official was when Yamal posted a birthday tribute to Nicki on Instagram. In the picture, he’s all smiles, wrapping his arm around her and resting his hand on her hip.
The caption was just a couple of heart emojis and a birthday cake. But that alone was enough for millions to be convinced it wasn’t “just friendship.”
