Jay-Z has announced that the civil lawsuit accusing him and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl has been dismissed, as confirmed by the artist himself in a statement posted on Instagram via Roc Nation’s official account.
«Today is a victory. The frivolous, fictitious and appalling allegations have been dimissed (…) The trauma that my wife, my children, loved ones and and I have endured can never be dismissed.»
The lawsuit first made headlines in December. According to the complaint filed in federal court in New York, Jay-Z and Puff Daddy allegedly drugged and sexually assaultedThey assaulted a 13-year-old girl who has filed a complaint anonymously under the pseudonym Jane Doe at an after-party for the MTV Video Music Awards. However, the case has been dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled under the same terms in the future.
«This civil lawsuit was with no merit and was never going anywhere. The fictional story they created was laughable, if not for the seriousness of the claims. I would not wish this experience on anyone,» the rapper stated.

«This 1-800 lawyer gets to file a suit hiding behind Jane DOe, and when they quickly realize that the money grab is going to fail, they get to walk away with no repercussions. The system has failed».
These are just some of the words Jay-Z dedicates to Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing the alleged victim and the lawyer behind multiple sexual assault lawsuits against Sean “Diddy” Combs. Beyoncé’s husband—who has also been linked to Puff Daddy in these allegations—claimed the lawsuit was merely an attempt to extort him for financial gain.
«The courts must protect victims, OF COURSE, while with the same ethical responsibility, they courts must also protect the innocent from being accused without a shred of evidence. May the truth prevail for all victims and for those falsely accused equally,» Jay-Z concluded.
Despite the outcome of this lawsuit, Puff Daddy is still entangled in several legal battles. Recently, new allegations emerged accusing him of using his power and influence to take advantage of other victims. According to recent reports, he promised a man a music career opportunity before allegedly sexually assaulting him.
Sean «Diddy» Combs is set to stand trial in May. It will be then that the producer and songwriter will have to prove his innocence…
