Dua Lipa Confirms Engagement to Callum Turner: Here’s How They Met

While it might seem like their connection happened quickly, the couple have known each other for quite a while

Rumors about a possible engagement between Dua Lipa and Callum Turner had been around for a while—especially after the couple was spotted looking very affectionate beneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris, where Dua was seen showing off a ring on her left ring finger. But there was no official confirmation… until June 12, 2025.

As reported by British Vogue, the couple has now taken a major step forward in their relationship. Dua, who will appear on the magazine’s July cover, confirmed the news in an interview with journalist Gaby Wood: “Yeah, we’re engaged,” she said. “This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever – it’s a really special feeling.”

She also shared that the ring was specially designed, with Callum reaching out to her close friends and her sister Rina for advice. “I’m obsessed with it. It’s so me. It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well,” she added.

Despite the happy news, there’s no wedding planned for now. Both Dua and Callum are busy with work—she’s finishing her tour, and he’s currently filming. “We’re just enjoying this period. I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden I’m like: ‘Oh, what would I wear?” Dua admitted with a smile.

While it might seem like their connection happened quickly, the truth is that Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have known each other for quite a while. In fact, they already had mutual friends before they ever even spoke.

Their first meeting took place at The River Cafe in London, where one of the restaurant’s co-founders introduced them. About a year later, Dua ran into Callum at a restaurant in Los Angeles and thought, “Oh, it’s that really hot guy from The River Cafe.” As it turns out, they were also reading the same book—without realizing it.

For Dua, it was a series of small but meaningful signs that made her feel “a thousand percent” sure they were meant to be together. Since making their relationship public in 2024, the rest has been history.
