Karol G’s Message to the Latin Community Amid Protests in the USA and Colombia

The singer spoke out in response to the events related to ICE, Donald Trump's migration policies, and the situation in her country

Colombian Latin music icon Karol G has broken her silence on the social and political turmoil affecting both her homeland and the broader Latinx community in the United States. In a powerful message shared across her social media platforms, the artist spoke from the heart, denouncing the mistreatment of Latinos by immigration enforcement in the U.S. and expressing deep concern over the current crisis in Colombia.

In the same way as the Colombian singer, well-known artists and celebrities like Doechii, Pedro Pascal, Kim Kardashian, and Mark Ruffalo have also spoken out against the mass arrests and deportations as part of Donald Trump’s immigration policy.

“What a crazy feeling to wake up these days and see everything that’s happening… I don’t know how to stay quiet when something hurts me. I’m Colombian, and my country is going through a devastating moment. I’m Latina, and what’s happening to my community is deeply painful 💔 Being Latino should not generate rejection or fear. It should inspire PRIDE AND RESPECT. Latinos are a blessing; Persistent, hardworking, dreamers!! … People who, wherever they are, work the fields, build cities, start businesses, heal wounds, teach, support homes, care for families… We’re here to contribute culture, strength, talent, economy, and humanity. I can’t stop thinking about this, and at the same time I can’t stop thinking about the pain in my homeland. Seeing the suffering and uncertainty in Colombia leaves me speechless,» she wrote on Instagram

She also took the opportunity to send an emotional and powerful message to all the families affected by recent events.

«To the families facing fear, loss, and distress today… I’m with you too. I’m with my people. Always. Karol G’s message lands at a critical moment: amid intensified U.S. immigration crackdowns targeting undocumented Latinx families and mounting social unrest in Colombia, marked by economic strain and political instability. Her call for dignity, visibility, and unity reflects a broader cultural shift where major Latin artists are refusing to stay silent.
