Why Has Peso Pluma Canceled Upcoming Tour in Latin America?

It hasn’t been an easy few weeks for Peso Pluma. However, it seems that things have taken a turn. We have just received the news of the cancellation of his tour in Latin America.

This indicates that the artist will not perform at his highly anticipated stop at the Viña del Mar 2024 festival, one of the most important events in Latin music on the continent. Moments later, Billboard confirmed that Argentine rapper Trueno, Nicki Nicole’s ex-boyfriend, will replace him at the event. In fact, María Becerra, also part of the festival lineup, will take over as the headliner, and Trueno will occupy the position of the Argentine diva.

A spokesperson for Peso Pluma has confirmed this information, also stating that he will not perform at the rest of his upcoming dates in Latin America; neither on February 24 in Asunción, Paraguay, nor on March 2 in Lima, Peru. Although local newspapers in Paraguay claimed it was due to «logistic issues,» the Mexican artist’s spokesperson indicated that it is due to «personal reasons.»

The Reason Peso Pluma’s Tour Cancellation

Nothing less than the sudden breakup with his now ex-partner, the queen of Argentine trap, Nicki Nicole, after the viralization of a video of Peso Pluma in Las Vegas holding hands with another woman, influencer Sahar Sonia.

Although Nicole has continued to be active and resumed her pending shows in Guatemala and the United States—sending quite clear indirect messages to Peso Pluma, with whom she appears visibly upset—it is not the case for the Mexican artist. Before the cancellation of his dates, the extended silence of the Jalisco-born artist also drew attention, who was also one of the notable absences at the Premio Lo Nuestro.

During the time when all these events have occurred, two new collaborations of «la Doble P» have come to light, a heartbreak song with Junior H, «A Tu Manera,» and another trap-style song with Santa Fe Klan and Argentine rapper Duki, «NO SON KLLE.» The Mexican artist’s movements on social media have been limited to promoting these new releases and announcing his «Éxodo Tour» in the United States.
