There are people who are born with talent, and the case of Trueno is a clear example of this. On March 25, 2002, Mateo Palacios Corazzina came into the world. La Boca (Argentina) saw the birth of the son of Pedro and Juliana and the grandson of Yamandú, a known folk musician and guitarist. Trueno grew up with music. His father – artistically known as Pedro Peligro – is a prominent Uruguayan rapper who over the years has earned the respect of an entire genre. Thanks to Juliana’s support and Pedro’s talent, our protagonist developed an innate love for this art.
At just three years old, he started beatboxing. Amazed by how smoothly he reproduced each sound, Pedro encouraged him to make the leap to hip-hop and sang backup for one of his songs. A star was born. At the age of 14, Trueno was already a young veteran of the genre and won his first freestyle competition. Later, his improvised rhymes became the inspiration for thousands and thousands of people who took him as a reference in the scene
But besides his father, Trueno has always been very clear about who also pushed him to develop his talent: Eminem. With him, everything began. In more than one interview, he has stated that the movie 8 Mile, starring the globally renowned rapper, impacted him in such a way that he had a clear idea of dedicating himself to rap. In fact, as reported by Clarín newspaper, it was then when Pedro decided to take him to a Red Bull rap battle competition to enjoy it, and as soon as it ended, Trueno turned to him and said, «I want to play this.»
«I’ve always cared about what they say about me. They said I was overrated because I was small or because my dad was a rapper, and I thought, what did I do wrong? It was hard for me, but now I understand that I can’t dwell on that. Even the best have haters, and in the end, they are more loyal than fans,» he says in the same interview.
Why did the movie starring Eminem have such an impact on the Argentine artist? In the mid-2000s, this story was released, which tells how a young Jimmy (played by Eminem) wants to enter the world of rap and earn the respect of a scene dominated by black rappers. He lives in a poor neighborhood in Detroit, and life doesn’t seem to smile at him. He has difficulties in his personal life, but his passion for music, hip-hop, and rap gives him the push to make his dreams come true. Music is the only thing that understands him and holds his hand in the worst moments. Therefore, he participates in battles at some clubs in the area to escape. He wants to change his future, do better, and enjoy it.

This struck a chord with Trueno, who saw his own story clearly. Hip-hop has become his tool of expression with lyrics loaded with social claims and personal situations. «I’m in love with rap and hip-hop,» he pointed out in an interview with LOS40.
Now Trueno is a reference for the new generations of rap. He is ready to present his new studio album, with which he will pay tribute to this genre in which he expresses every part of himself.
Music never let go of his hand. Rhymes are his medicine.
