Rauw Alejandro & Rosalía’s Songs That Explore Bisexuality

Rauw's track might have hinted at la Motomami's past relationship with Hunter Schafer

Hunter Schafer, the actress known for her role in Euphoria, made a surprising revelation in her recent interview with GQ magazine. The 25-year-old disclosed for the first time that she was in a romantic relationship with Rosalía for five months back in 2019. “I have really beautiful friendships with people that I was once romantically involved with […]  She’s family no matter what,” said Schafer. She also mentioned that she discussed the relationship with the Motomami singer before making it public.

Their decision to open up about their past relationship came after some time of speculation among fans. This speculation was also fueled by Rosalía‘s song «Tuya» (Yours), which many interpreted as being dedicated to a woman rather than a man, particularly due to the lyrics “Solo esta noche soy tuya, tuya. Solo esta noche eres mía, mía” (Only tonight I am yours, yours. Only tonight you are mine, mine). While English doesn’t distinguish gender in such cases, in Spanish, ‘mía’ is referring a woman.

Rauw Already Knew 

However, did you know that Rauw Alejandro had already hinted at Rosalía’s bisexuality in one of his songs from the album Saturno? The Puerto Rican artist released the song «Dejau» in 2023 alongside Playero. In the track, he openly talks about how an ex-girlfriend tries to reconcile with him. However, he asserts that he has already moved on from her, thanks to his new partner, a bisexual woman who has left him. 

It’s worth noting that he uses a different language. Specifically, these are the lines he sings: “Ey, de volver ella trata. Ya borré toa’ la data. Tengo una nueva gata que es bi, pero tira más pa’ pata”. An english translation would be something like: “Hey, she’s trying to come back. I’ve already erased all the data. I have a new girl who’s bi, but leans more towards girls.”

This album, written in 2022 and released in 2023, might have hinted at Rosalía’s past relationship with Hunter. If we consider the timeline, after her involvement with Hunter in 2019, the Spanish star began dating Rauw a few months later. 

Rosalía & Hunter’s Friendship

In reality, Rosalía and Hunter Schafer still maintain a strong bond today. The Motomami and the Euphoria actress met at a Burberry fashion show in London back in 2019. Since then, they’ve become close friends, going on outings and spending time together in Los Angeles. Moreover, in 2019, Rosalía dedicated her Billboard Women in Music award to Hunter.
