It’s a friendship that gradually developed into something deeper over the years. Ever since the Spanish became well-known, she has been linked to the Colombian in some way. 2018: The First Meeting and a Visit to the Latin Grammy
Back in 2018, Aitana was gaining fame as one of the standout contestants from Operación Triunfo 2017. During Gala 12, a 23-year-old Sebastián Yatra made an appearance. The Colombian approached her to sing parts of his song «Sutra.»
“I was on the TV show I came from, and he came to sing. When he sang to us finalists, he got really close and started singing all cool. I had to step back,” Aitana recalled on La Voz Kids in 2021. “I checked Twitter three hours later, and everyone in Spain was warning me to ‘stay away from Aitana!’” Yatra remembered on the same show, laughing.
Their paths went separate ways until November 2018, when she attended the Latin Grammy for the first time to co-present a performance with Lele Pons. That’s where they met again. The best part? Their friendship truly began there. They even posted some Instagram stories together.
Additionally, the Spanish media caught them strolling through the streets of Madrid. However, it appeared to be in a friendly manner, and there was no evidence indicating they were dating.
2019: Love Arrived
In 2019, both Aitana and Yatra found themselves in romantic relationships, but not with each other. Aitana officially began dating Miguel Bernardeau (Élite), a well-known young actor in Spain, while Yatra entered a relationship with Tini, an Argentine pop sensation with whom he had collaborated on the music video for «Cristina».

During the same year, in September, Aitana released the first single from her highly anticipated second studio album titled «Corazón Sin Vida» (Lifeless Heart). A month later, in March, Sebastián Yatra and Aitana travel together to Iceland to film the music video for their new song, «Akureyri.» It’s a track where they both lay bare their souls and tell their story. And if there were any doubts about their reconciliation, their recent trip to Los Angeles seems to dispel them.
