Just 24 hours ago, Don Omar took to social media to share some heartbreaking news: the Puerto Rican artist, with a heavy heart, announced that he is fighting cancer.

He shared the news on his Instagram feed with a photo of his wrist, showing a hospital bracelet from Orlando Health in the United States, letting us know that he’s already undergoing treatment. “Today, yes, but tomorrow I won’t have cancer. Good intentions are welcome. See you soon. #f**kcancer,” the artist wrote in the caption.

We’re used to hearing good news about the singer, like a new song release, a collaboration, or upcoming concerts. So, this news hit us like a bucket of cold water and left us speechless. At just 46 years old, Don Omar has always championed his music and earned the love of both the public and his colleagues, who have all rallied around him during this difficult time.

The Music World Unites Around Don Omar

However, the comment that has caught the most attention is from Daddy Yankee. Once again, both have shown they can set their differences aside. After recently making peace, the Puerto Rican wanted to send his best wishes:

“Keep going, William. You’ve already won the first battle with your mindset and attitude, my respects. Now, let’s win the physical one! You’re in my prayers, and above all, more than ever, I wish you HEALTH AND LIFE! We are with you, God bless you. ‘Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me;’ PSALM 30:2,” he wrote on the post.

At LOS40 we also want to send our support to Don Omar. We believe he is facing this new and challenging stage of his life with hope and a strong belief that he will come back stronger than ever. Stay strong, Kong!
