Let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to trade places with Sofia Vergara? Living in a $26 million mansion and with the entire film and TV industry at her feet. Now, she’s been making headlines mainly for her role in the hit Netflix series, Giselda, which tells the story of a notorious Colombian drug lord.

However, in a recent interview with You Magazine (DailyMail), Sofia didn’t just talk about her professional success; she also got real about matters of the heart. Since her split from Joe Manganiello in mid-2023, after nearly eight years together, she hasn’t publicly moved on to another serious relationship, but she’s definitely open to finding love again.

During the interview, the reporter asked Sofia if she’s tried dating apps to find Mr. Right.  “No, I wish!” she said, admitting she’s not the best with technology, “I’m bad with technology, so I’m sure I would click on the wrong ones.” Despite this, she’s open to having a good time and meeting new people because, as she points out, “it’s only been six months” since her breakup.

Despite her desire to give dating apps a try to find love, Vergara has been spotted several times with surgeon Justin Saliman, though neither has openly discussed a relationship.

Love & Its Complexities

During her appearance on the show El Hormiguero, Vergara jokingly talked about her ideal man now that she’s back in the single scene: “He’s gotta be around my age, with kids, and easy on the eyes, but he doesn’t need to be a Hollywood heartthrob.” She also stressed the importance of being financially compatible.

Beyond money and looks, children are a big deal for Vergara in her future relationships. During her seven-year marriage to Joe Manganiello, she was clear about not wanting more kids (she has a 32-year-old son, Manolo, from a previous relationship), while Manganiello wanted to be a dad: “Joe was younger than me and hadn’t been a dad yet. He wanted kids, but I didn’t. Think about it, when the kid is ten, I’ll be in my 60s! That’s grandma territory!” she joked. This difference in desires was a significant reason for their well-known breakup.

I know what it takes to be a good mom. You have to be there for your kids. And my career means a lot to me. I can’t just drop everything. A lot of people rely on me,” she explained, revealing that her current dream isn’t about being a mom again but becoming a grandmother.
