Recently, Rolling Stone surprised by naming Peso Pluma the ‘Biggest New Artist on the Planet.’ This news comes after Hassan Emilio Kabande appeared on the cover of the April edition, where he was called the ‘future’ of music.

In an interview with the magazine, the Mexican singer talked about his projects, including his new album Éxodo, which has made a big impact on streaming platforms since its release. He also shared the sacrifices he has made to establish himself as a global figure in the regional Mexican genre. “I’m proud to wave my flag high and be the first to do many things: to show my roots, where we come from, and what we do.”

Peso Pluma’s Success: “I’m Crazy”

‘La Doble P’ also talked about his creative process, describing his ideas as ‘crazy’ and attributing his success to his artistic irreverence. “I’m crazy, and I’m not joking. Mentally, I’m crazy: the ideas I have, the songs we create. I believe madness is part of genius,” he explained.

Rolling Stone magazine acknowledges that at 24 years old, Peso Pluma has reached stardom with his distinctive style of Mexican music. Although he initially became famous with songs about heartbreak and romance, his most popular tracks now talk about extravagant living and luxury. His style, known as corridos tumbados, has taken traditional Mexican ballads to a new international level.

A Rising Career

Hassan has achieved incredible success, topping major global music charts and gaining millions of listeners on various platforms. In 2023, he became the most-watched artist of the year on YouTube, surpassing stars like Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny. And in 2024, he won his first Grammy for ‘Best Mexican Music Album’ with his record ‘Génesis.’

Rolling Stone highlights that Peso Pluma has modernized his image, swapping cowboy boots and hats for high-end sneakers and baseball caps, looking more like a glamorous rapper than a traditional Mexican singer.

‘La Doble P’s’ fame grew so much that his unique haircut became popular among young people. He acknowledges that his success is thanks to his fans, who have supported him unconditionally. “I’m grateful to my people and the fans who supported me because they are the ones who put us on the charts and everything else… I believe it’s not just Peso Pluma who reached number one: it’s Mexican music that made this happen.”
