Natanael Cano Faces Backlash for Posting Videos While Drunk: What Did He Say?

It’s not the first time the 'king of corridos tumbados' has made headlines

Natanael Cano, known as the king of corridos tumbados, is in hot water again after sharing—and then deleting—a series of videos on social media. The singer appeared visibly drunk on a bed full of cash, which led to a flood of criticism, memes, and comments.

In the videos, Nata, as his fans call him, showed off his money while talking about his wealth in an obviously intoxicated state. He also displayed his extensive wardrobe and, in a move that left many people stunned, began arranging bills on his bed to cover the ‘empty spaces.’

‘Money is Nothing’

In one of the videos still circulating, he can be seen speaking. “Obviously, I’m grateful to all those people who know it wasn’t easy, that we’ve spent six years breaking our backs, breaking our hearts, having fights with people we care about a lot,” says the singer as he lies on his ‘bed of bills.’ “In the end, you have to stand out,” he continues before abruptly sitting up and raising his voice. “Money is nothing, dude, it comes easily, in the end, it doesn’t matter. What matters is who you are.”

Apparently, some comments didn’t sit well with him, and in a rebellious moment, he said: “I did this just because I’m drunk. Why wouldn’t I do it if I can? I had a bag full of money that I earned through my hard work.” After a few pauses, he continued, “Smart people know that the money is in the bank. These are like the crumbs I get from afterparties, from when I go to perform, but I show it off anyway. Even though I have millions elsewhere, I love showing it off.”

Near the end of the video, he began to say goodbye. “Well, I wanted to do this from the heart, and it means nothing, this means nothing. I’m still the same, but why wouldn’t I do it? I mean, I love having fun. This doesn’t make me different, neither more nor less.” He concluded, sending a kiss to the camera. Shortly after, he decided to delete the videos.

It’s Not the First Time He’s Made Headlines

This isn’t Natanael Cano’s first scandal. Previously, he had a verbal spat with Ángela Aguilar‘s father, Pepe Aguilar, criticizing him for his age. He was also in hot water for making some disparaging comments.
